Curator’s statement
I stayed at this Melia brand resort in June of 2023, along with my husband, for our anniversary. We were there for five nights and really did not want the party atmosphere of Cancun. We’ve been to Cozumel several times before, but had always stayed in private apartments. Having stayed in her sister property, Paradisus Cancun (formerly Gran Melia Cancun) before, we decided to give all inclusive hotels in Cozumel a try, and we were not disappointed!

First things first, the staff at this hotel is what makes it so unique and memorable! They are incredibly customer service oriented and were without a doubt the highlight of our stay. From room attendants to bartenders to wait staff, there was truly nothing that we “wanted” for that they would not go out of their way to provide or make happen!
This property has a sort of two-tiered system. There are the different, usual categories within the regular hotel, and then they have the “Level” service, which was really akin to staying in a hotel within a hotel. There are a few categories of rooms in The Level; Junior suites, Royal Suite and Family Suites. We stayed in a Royal Suite on the ground floor with an ocean view. The Level is an elevated level of service and amenities. These included a personal jetted whirlpool tub on your own deck or balcony, a minibar that remained stocked according to our preferences, a personal concierge representative who was only a text away and a private lounge area with drinks and snacks to relax in with other level guests. All of these (and other) benefits gave great added value to this, our favorite of hotels in Cozumel to date!
The restaurants at this all inclusive property are quite good. The buffet is standard fare. However, the Fish House and Mole, especially, were highlights of the dining on property to us. Don’t let the name “Fish House” fool you, either, they served a fabulous breakfast as well! Mole’s offerings were great authentic Mexican cuisine, served in an open air environment overlooking the ocean.
Besides the great service and pleasant evening dining, we also, of course, spent some time on the beach as well. Unfortunately, I have to suggest that if you choose this or any number of hotels in Cozumel, or the entire region, actually….plan your stay for the months of October through May. Sargassum, or seaweed, proliferates near the coast and onshore, and made swimming a bit less than desirable. However, the service continued, with maintenance constantly removing the seaweed from the beach itself and lovely thatched huts and palapas along with food and beverage service right to your seat made sunbathing sublime!
Need to know
I would recommend this resort hotel in Cozumel on the strength of their exceptional and highly attentive service alone. Couples, families, etc. will all feel well cared for and pampered on their beach resort getaway! However, if swimming in the ocean is important to you, you may want to schedule for the cooler months of October-April/May for the ultimate Mexican beach holiday!
