Grand Hyatt Berlin: Where Elegance, Sophistication and Comfort Meet
Curator’s statement

In December 2024, I went on a Western European vacation with my family. We relished the holiday festivities, with Berlin, Germany as the final stop on our journey. After two weeks on the road and visits to five countries, I was looking for a place where I could both enjoy myself and recharge for the last leg of our trip. I found it at the Grand Hyatt Berlin. Grand Hyatt Berlin seamlessly blends elegance and ease, offering the signature Grand Hyatt hospitality with refined sophistication. From the attentive staff to the superb culinary delights, the serene rooftop pool and the spacious, supremely comfortable rooms, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to allow guests to fully enjoy their stay and the unique history of this city.

Location

The Grand Hyatt Berlin's central location makes it an unbeatable base for exploring the city's highlights. Within walking distance, you'll find iconic landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Parliament Building, Berlin’s largest and oldest park, Tiergarten and the Mall of Berlin. Just a 5-minute walk from Potsdamer Platz metro station, the hotel offers easy access to cultural gems. This includes the Berlin Wall Memorial, Berlin Cathedral and the Berlin TV Tower, all within 30 minutes. Across from the hotel is The Playce Shopping Mall. There are a variety of eateries and shops, as well as the Berlinale Palast, home to the Berlin Film Festival each February. During this time, guests may even catch a glimpse of international movie stars walking the red carpet in their glamorous outfits. You can spot this either from room windows or while entering and exiting the hotel.

Hotel design

The common areas of Grand Hyatt Berlin reflect a contemporary design, blending sleek lines with warm, inviting elements. The lobby, with its high ceilings and classy furnishings, is open and airy, emphasizing a balance of modernity and comfort. Throughout the hotel, displays of art pieces made of stone and wood evoke nature, and embracing simplicity aligns with Berlin’s growing reputation for sustainability. Local photographers work in the hallways, enriching the hotel’s aesthetic with a distinct sense of local culture.

Room

As soon as I stepped into my room at Grand Hyatt Berlin, a sense of tranquility enveloped me. The tastefully appointed room radiated calm. The bed became my sanctuary after a day of sightseeing in the city. It offered one of the best nights' sleep I've ever had, melting away all my tiredness and worries. I sank into the premium bedding and mattress, completely unwinding after a hot bath with Balmain toiletries. If you're staying in a suite, you can take your relaxation to the next level with a steam room in your bathroom and fresh flowers, professionally arranged by their in-house florist. The hotel offers connecting rooms for family travelers and can even block off an entire corner of the floor for your party.

Rooftop wellness pool and spa facilities

One of the standout features of the Grand Hyatt Berlin is its Club Olympus. Open daily from 7 am to 9 pm with sweeping views of the city skyline, Club Olympus is a blissful escape while taking in Berlin’s beauty from above. Guests can book a spa treatment and decompress at Club Olympus before or after, or simply drop in any time during the day. Rejuvenate with a Finnish sauna, steam room, swimming pool and whirlpool, preparing you for a good night's rest, or fueling you for the adventures ahead. Located on the top floor of the property, the indoor facilities are available year-round, even in the coldest winter.

Restaurants

The hotel’s food and beverage offerings provided a delightful range of options, and each dish was prepared with precision and care. Every bite felt like a celebration of Berlin’s vibrant food scene, from the breakfa

st buffet to the dinners, and the coffee and baked goods in between. The outstanding service only enhanced the meal, making each one something to look forward to.

i) Vox Restaurant & Terrace

Around since 1998, it’s become a true staple in the area. With its open-show kitchen and summer terrace, this restaurant is hard to miss. The breakfast buffet gives way to a vibrant hotspot for modern Asian-inspired cuisine as the day goes on.

ii) Vox Bar

Located next to the restaurant, it is a stylish gem for those who love live music and great drinks. With over 150 whiskies, from beloved classics to rare finds, the whisky flights are a must-try. For cigar enthusiasts, the Smoker'

s Lounge offers top-of-the-line cigars.

iii) Bistro Mitte

From pasta and burgers to local favorites like Berlin Currywurst and Berlin Antipasti, the menu has something for everyone. The venue is a lively hub, attracting an international crowd for casual business lunches or relaxed dinners. The intimate, charming atmosphere is further accentuated by a cozy fireplace.

iv) 1838 Deli

If you're looking for a quick refreshment between activities or need something on-the go, 1838 Deli is the spot. It's a fairly new addition to the hotel, and the smell of fresh coffee and delicious pastries hits you as soon as you walk in.

v) Le Petit Chef and Friends

Fancy something different? With themed music, props and a menu that spans the globe, you’ll watch a miniature chef come to life on your table through stunning visual mapping. The set menu (with a vegetarian option) promises a fun time where you’re not just eating — you’re eating the fun!

Need to know

For many of us, the hotel we choose is a key part — if not the most important part — of our travels. A truly memorable journey in a foreign country feels incomplete without a place that makes you feel like a home away from home. During my time in Berlin, I was deeply enriched by the city’s depth and character. My time at Grand Hyatt Berlin elevated the experience even further and impeccably complemented the city's energy.

I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Berlin and choosing Grand Hyatt Berlin as your “home away from home.” Behind the effortless perfection of this property lies the hotel’s unwavering philosophy of consistent excellence in creating unforgettable stays for every guest. This is the pinnacle of true luxury.
