Where to stay in Grand Cayman

I visited the Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman in January 2026 and found it to be a very nice property with a relaxed, laid-back vibe. Located near Seven Mile Beach, the hotel blends modern design with local touches and highlights the work of Caymanian artists, including locally made pottery and artwork throughout the property. It has a stylish, boutique feel while still offering the amenities of a larger resort.

Lobby area

The property features 282 guest rooms, many of which are designed with families or groups in mind—approximately 60% of the rooms can connect, which makes it a great option for families traveling together.

The hotel has several dining options on-site, including a great coffee shop that is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., serving specialty coffees, pastries, and light breakfast options. For dinner, the property also offers a tasting-menu restaurant with a very intimate experience, seating a maximum of 20 guests, making it a fun option for food-loving travelers looking for something unique.

One of the highlights of the property is the rooftop restaurant and bar, Pom Pom Rooftop Lounge, which offers beautiful views and a lively atmosphere. On weekends, there is often a DJ, making it a popular spot for both guests and locals.

While the hotel is located along Seven Mile Beach, it is not directly oceanfront. The beach is about a four-minute walk away, or guests can take advantage of the complimentary golf cart shuttle service. Guests have access to the beach club Bonny Moon Beach Club, where loungers and towels are included as part of the resort fee. One important note for clients is that because Bonny Moon operates independently from the hotel, food and beverages cannot be charged back to the room, so guests should bring a credit card if they plan to order drinks or meals.

Also worth noting: Since this section of Seven Mile Beach is public, it can become busy on days when cruise ships are in port, as cruise passengers sometimes visit this area of the beach.

Catalina Restaurant, where breakfast is served

The property itself does not have a spa, but guests can easily use the spa facilities at the nearby sister property, Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa. Golf carts run between the two resorts, making it easy to access the spa, additional restaurants, and other amenities without needing to walk. Between Hotel Indigo and the Kimpton Seafire, guests have access to 11 different dining options, which is a great added value.

For wellness-focused travelers, yoga and Pilates classes are included in the resort fee. While the property does not have a kids' club, families can access the kids' camp and splash pad at the Kimpton Seafire for an additional fee.

Pool

Overall, Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman is a stylish and relaxed property that works well for couples, groups of friends, and families who want an upscale stay near Seven Mile Beach with access to plenty of dining and amenities. The connection to Kimpton Seafire adds extra value, giving guests the feel of a boutique hotel while still benefiting from the offerings of a larger resort nearby.

Need to know

The island shuts down fairly early, around 9 pm, so if you like nightlife, Cayman may not be the right fit. On weekends, more live music and later nights may be available.
