Curator’s statement
Hacienda Na Xamena completely changed the way I view Ibiza. Beyond the party scene, this cliffside retreat feels peaceful, cinematic, and deeply restorative—the kind of place where slow mornings, ocean views, and sunset dinners become the highlight of the trip. What made it so special to me was how effortlessly it blended luxury with nature, creating an experience that felt both elevated and grounding at the same time. It’s the kind of stay that reminds you that travel is not just about where you go, but how a place makes you feel.

Hacienda Na Xamena offers a completely different side of Ibiza than most travelers expect. Perched high on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, the property feels serene, intimate, and deeply connected to nature. What stood out to me most was how the hotel creates a true sense of escape—from the dramatic ocean views and quiet mornings to the unforgettable sunsets that feel almost cinematic. It’s the kind of place where you naturally slow down and become fully present, which is something I think many travelers are craving right now.

One of my favorite aspects of the property is how effortlessly it blends understated luxury with the natural beauty of the island. The atmosphere feels elevated without being overly flashy, making it ideal for travelers who appreciate beautiful design, wellness, and authentic experiences over a typical party-focused Ibiza itinerary. The cascading saltwater pools overlooking the cliffs are one of the hotel’s signature experiences and truly unlike anything else on the island. I would strongly recommend planning time to simply enjoy the property itself rather than treating it as just a place to sleep.

The spa was also one of the absolute highlights of my stay and, honestly, one of the most visually stunning wellness experiences I’ve had while traveling. The hotel’s famous “Suspended Waterfalls” thalassotherapy circuit is built directly into the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, creating the feeling that you are floating above the sea. Between the cascading seawater pools, hydrotherapy experiences, and panoramic ocean views, it felt less like a traditional spa and more like a full sensory experience. What I loved most is that the spa perfectly reflects the energy of the property itself: peaceful, grounding, and deeply restorative. It became one of those travel experiences that stayed with me long after the trip ends.

I especially recommend this hotel for couples, honeymooners, milestone celebrations, or travelers looking for a more refined and restorative Mediterranean escape. It’s also perfect for clients who love destinations like the Amalfi Coast, Santorini, or the French Riviera, but want something that feels a little more secluded and less overly saturated. While Ibiza is known globally for nightlife, this property showcases the island’s softer, more luxurious side, centered around wellness, beautiful beaches, hidden coves, scenic drives, and unforgettable coastal dining.

For travelers planning a trip here, I would suggest pairing a stay at Hacienda Na Xamena with beach club lunches, sunset dinners along the coast, and time exploring some of Ibiza’s quieter beaches and villages. This is not the Ibiza of nonstop parties and clubs. It is Ibiza through a slower, more intentional, and deeply beautiful lens.

Need to know
Ibiza is far more diverse than many travelers expect, and where you stay on the island will completely shape your experience. I would highly recommend renting a car, especially if you want to explore hidden coves, beach clubs, scenic cliffside viewpoints, and some of the quieter villages outside of the main party areas. The island is incredibly drivable, and many of the most beautiful spots are tucked away from the more tourist-heavy areas.
For travelers considering Hacienda Na Xamena specifically, keep in mind that the property is intentionally secluded and peaceful, which is part of its charm. I recommend building in time to actually enjoy the hotel and spa instead of overpacking your itinerary. Sunset dinners, slow mornings overlooking the water, and relaxing afternoons at the property ended up being some of the most memorable parts of the trip for me.
Ibiza can also become very expensive during peak summer months, so I would recommend booking hotels, beach clubs, and dinner reservations well in advance, especially from June through September. If you want a more relaxed and luxurious experience with beautiful weather but fewer crowds, shoulder season (May, early June, or September) is ideal.
Lastly, don’t go to Ibiza expecting only nightlife. Some of my favorite memories came from the quieter moments, hidden beaches, cliffside drives, wellness experiences, and simply taking in the natural beauty of the island. It’s one of those destinations that can be whatever you want it to be: vibrant and social, or slow, restorative, and deeply peaceful.
