Curator’s statement
There are luxury resorts, and then there is Amanoi. Perched within Vietnam's Nui Chua National Park overlooking Vinh Hy Bay, Amanoi is one of those rare properties that completely redefines luxury. Not because it is extravagant, but because every detail has been designed to create space, silence and an overwhelming sense of calm. After visiting many of the world's leading luxury hotels, I can confidently say that Amanoi delivers one of the most complete hospitality experiences I have ever encountered.

Reaching Amanoi is part of the experience. Located approximately 75 minutes from Cam Ranh International Airport, the drive gradually leaves civilization behind as the landscape becomes increasingly rugged and remote. By the time you pass through Amanoi's gates, you already feel disconnected from everyday life.
Set within the UNESCO-designated Nui Chua Biosphere Reserve, the property enjoys one of the most spectacular natural settings in Vietnam, surrounded by mountains on one side and the East Sea on the other.

One of Amanoi's defining characteristics is its extraordinary sense of space. Rather than maximizing room count, the resort spreads just 34 accommodations (9 Pavilions, 23 Pool Villas and 2 Wellness Pool Villas) plus 12 private Residences across an expansive hillside overlooking the coastline.
That low-density approach creates something increasingly rare in luxury hospitality: complete privacy.
I stayed in a Mountain Pool Villa, where the architecture quietly becomes part of the experience. The villa never feels overly decorative or ostentatious. Instead, natural materials, generous proportions and carefully positioned light create an atmosphere of complete serenity.

One unexpected highlight was the intimate library area, a beautiful reading corner that perfectly captures Amanoi's philosophy of slowing down.
The service is where Amanoi truly separates itself. Rather than simply being attentive, the team is remarkably anticipatory. My villa would be serviced several times throughout the day without ever interrupting my schedule. Every interaction felt natural, effortless and deeply personal. Nothing feels scripted. Nothing feels transactional. It is simply some of the finest hospitality I have experienced anywhere in the world.

The culinary experience reflects the same understated philosophy found throughout the resort. Breakfast, served in the hilltop restaurant overlooking the bay, is beautifully curated rather than overwhelming. Vietnamese specialties sit alongside refined international classics, while the pace encourages guests to slow down and enjoy the morning.
Dinner is equally memorable, particularly dishes celebrating local ingredients. One standout was Amanoi's signature "Squid Sauna," prepared tableside in a clay pot using coconut water—a simple but wonderfully immersive experience.
Lower down by the shoreline, the beach restaurant offers an entirely different atmosphere, creating the feeling of moving between two distinct worlds within the same resort.
The lakeside Aman Spa is one of the property's defining spaces. Surrounded by lotus ponds and connected by tranquil walkways, it feels less like a spa and more like a sanctuary. One of my favorite moments came after my treatment, walking slowly around the lake toward the yoga pavilion that appears to float above the water. It perfectly encapsulates Amanoi's greatest strength: creating moments of complete presence.
Guests seeking an even deeper wellness experience can also book one of the dedicated Wellness Pool Villas, each featuring its own private spa facilities.
Many luxury resorts deliver beautiful rooms, impressive architecture and excellent service. Amanoi delivers something far more difficult to create. It creates an emotional response. Everything, from the architecture and lighting to the pacing of the service, has been carefully considered to make guests feel calmer, lighter and more present. That feeling stays with you long after checkout.
Need to know
One of the biggest misconceptions about Amanoi is that choosing any villa delivers the same experience. It doesn't. Because the resort is exceptionally large and intentionally low-density, villa location has a significant impact on the stay. Depending on where you're positioned, your experience can feel more connected to the mountains, the ocean, the spa or the beach. Walking distances, views, privacy levels and even the atmosphere vary considerably across the property.
This is exactly where working with a knowledgeable travel advisor adds real value. Beyond securing preferred partner amenities and VIP recognition, helping clients choose the right accommodation for their travel style is one of the most important parts of planning an Aman stay. For a property where space, silence and atmosphere define the experience, selecting the right villa matters just as much as selecting the resort itself.
