Front Row to Paradise: Grace Bay Without the Crowds
Curator’s statement

Grace Bay Club hits that rare sweet spot: prime location and thoughtful design and flexibility for different types of travelers. The one-row beach setup alone makes it stand out—no jockeying for views and no crowds blocking your moment. I recommend this for clients who want luxury and a “home-like” feel, but also want to step off property and experience the island with ease. It’s especially strong for groups, families, and couples who value both space and access.

Where to stay

Some resorts impress you with over-the-top design. Others win you over quietly.

Grace Bay Club does the latter—and then seals the deal the second you step onto the beach.

While most resorts stack rows of chairs on top of each other, this property keeps it simple. The staff has a policy, which I absolutely love—they only allow one row of beach chairs and umbrellas along their beach line. No one sits in front or back of you. It’s just you, your chair, and that unreal stretch of turquoise water that Turks and Caicos does better than almost anywhere else.

Trust me, once you see it, you get it.

Now, onto the property. Grace Bay has been around since 1993 and it has remained in business for a reason, because it is designed with intention, giving you different ways to experience it depending on how you travel.

There are three distinct sections you can explore.

The Estates feel like a private residence meets beachfront luxury—massive, multi-bedroom villas where families or groups can spread out, settle in, and stay awhile. I was able to see the four bedroom villa and it’s the type of unit that invites you to stay in, even though the beach is so mesmerizing you’ll want to go outside. What I like about it the most is the space. The master bedroom is on one side of the villa and the guest bedrooms on the other, so everyone has privacy. The kitchen is huge. You can cook an entire meal here and then some, or invite people over to have a fabulous get together with a view of the beach. There’s a large wet bar area with the best wine refrigerator I’ve ever seen. There is a huge pantry in this unit with a washer and dryer, and tons of storage. And the bathrooms are ample, with a Jack and Jill style for families. It’s perfect for families, of course, but I particularly like it for girls’ trips, especially for older women who don’t mind sharing a room but not a bed. The patio makes you not want to leave, but honestly, no one would be upset if you didn’t!

The second section I viewed was the adult-only villas (only available for guests 16 years old and up). It’s quieter, more relaxed, and ideal for couples who want a simple, peaceful stay. The decor is nice, but a little more dated than the Estates, yet you won’t be disappointed. One thing to note is that there are no elevators here, so if you have mobility issues you may want to consider the other sections.

Then there are the villas, which might be the most practical sweet spot. They are spacious, comfortable, and more accessible price-wise, so they’re perfect for families or friend groups who want room to breathe without going all-in on the Estates. The villas are in the 2200 square-foot range, smaller than the Estates but ample nonetheless. There are no connecting rooms, but you can book two rooms side by side for small groups so you can be together.

Finally, each section has its own pool, its own vibe, its own rhythm—so even within one property, you’re not locked into a single experience. But that beach and powdery sand! It is so utterly divine, you will linger there for a long time.

What really makes Grace Bay Club stand out, though, is what happens when you leave the beach.

You’re not isolated here. Step outside, and you’re right in the middle of it—there are (four) restaurants on site, but if you want to get off site, you are right near restaurants, shops, and nightlife in their downtown—which are all within reach in roughly five minutes by car. It’s one of the few properties on the island where you can truly go back and forth between resort life and local energy without overthinking it.

If you choose to stay here, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a solid choice and has all the amenities of a hotel, but in an elevated manner. Sit back and relax and stay a while. You’ll be happy with your decision.

Need to know

Grace Bay Club is a go-to for a reason. It’s versatile, well-located, and consistently delivers. If you want a beautiful beach and the freedom to explore, this is one of the smartest choices on the island.

If you choose the Estates, they will be renovated this summer (2026). They are focusing on updating the bathrooms mainly so you’ll truly enjoy your entire villa.

If you want to step it up even another notch, stay at The Rockhouse, which is part of Grace Bay Club. These are villas that sit on a cliff, offer peace and quiet, and take you off the grid for a while. While I didn’t see this property while I was in Turks and Caicos, other travel advisors raved about it and highly recommend it for certain clients.
