Urban Luxury: Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi
Curator’s statement

The Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi is not only one of the best hotels in Tokyo, but is arguably one of the best Four Seasons globally. Entering the lobby on the 39th floor, you’ll be wowed by the panoramic views of Tokyo, including sights of Mt. Fuji on a clear day. Recently opened in 2020, this property features pristine accommodations, high-quality service, and a plethora of amenities. I had the opportunity to both stay here and conduct a site inspection in May 2025, and I would highly recommend it. The hotel

This five-star luxury hotel is the epitome of urban luxury. Nestled in the financial district of Tokyo, it offers an elegant, decadent retreat. The lobby stuns with its panoramic views and artfully crafted details. On-site dining options range from Michelin-starred Est, award-winning cocktail bar Virtu, and Italian cuisine at Pigneto to popular afternoon tea at the lounge.

The daily breakfast (included in the Four Seasons Preferred amenities) was amazing. My family loved scouting out the different buffet stations and finding out what changed each day. Some favorites were the udon, homemade jams, and matcha lattes. In the evening, my husband and I had a great date night at Virtu—the cocktails are a unique Japanese take on the classics, and the staff was eager to customize our drinks to our liking.

The spa offers a full menu of treatment options, and the fitness center is expansive. Beyond that, one of the most special features of the hotel is the indoor pool. I went for an afternoon swim, and sitting up on the edge made me feel like I was floating over the city.

Accommodations range from rooms with city or garden views to several options for suites. The rooms are decorated with artistic and subtle tones and have features like spacious closets and soaking tubs. We were upgraded to a Deluxe City View, and my favorite feature was the full walk-in closet.

Location

Located in the business district of Tokyo, the hotel is a short walk from the Imperial Palace Gardens and Tokyo Station. While not in the bustling Ginza or Shinjuku, this location is easily accessible to the main sites of Tokyo via a short drive or subway. What I loved most about the location was the proximity to the train—we were easily able to take day trips across Japan.
