Curator’s statement
In January of 2024, I did a site inspection while staying at the beautiful and historic Fairmont El San Juan. Their staff was always willing to go above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. The resort was clean, had four pool choices (one being adult only), and had great food and drinks. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to any of my clients.

Here’s a recap of my stay at the Fairmont El San Juan in Puerto Rico! It was absolutely beautiful. Many excursions to do while on the island (which concierge was more than willing to help with), a beautiful gym and plenty of options to lounge by the pool and beach! And also HELLO to their magnificent lobby! The Fairmont has incredibly rich history, too!
This property had a great atmosphere with a very accommodating staff and was incredibly clean! The one thing I should mention is that there were a handful of cats on the property, but they’re there to keep rodents away, which is good! They do have a night life at the resort too, a fun club that their guests can go into that also hosts private party events, making it so there are people coming into the lobby all of the time. Live music happens almost every night with a lively casino as well! The bathrooms in some rooms were on the smaller side, but the nicer the room you get, the bigger the bathroom. I stayed in the Banyan Bungalows and the rooms were beautiful with a gorgeous bathroom. They also have a texting number so you can contact their concierge and room service - so nice and innovative!
They also have a few restaurants on site with great food! We mostly ate at the buffet in the morning (11/10), Italian restaurant for dinner (12/10) and the pool-side restaurants (10/10)! There’s a nice steak house at the Fairmont as well, but we didn’t have enough time to go (heard about its amazing reviews though). We also went in January and had some rain storms, but they came and went. Puerto Rico can get a lot of rain, so make sure you plan accordingly (January through April are the best times). This resort has it all. I'd truly recommend it to any of my clients.
