Curator’s statement
Cayo Levantado is one of those places where you instantly exhale the moment you arrive. The journey itself—a drive through the Dominican countryside followed by a quick boat ride to the island ("White Lotus," anyone?)—feels like part of the adventure. Once on the island, you’re greeted with a mix of natural beauty, warm hospitality, and quiet luxury that makes this destination feel worlds away from everyday life.

Set just off the coast of Samaná, Cayo Levantado offers a true island escape. After flying into Santo Domingo, it’s a 2.5- to three-hour drive and a short 10-minute boat ride to reach the resort. That final stretch by water sets the tone—the island feels private and removed, creating the sense that you’ve discovered something special.
The resort itself is beautiful, with lush gardens, wide-open sea views, and sprawling grounds designed for both relaxation and exploration. Rooms are oversized compared to most Caribbean resorts; the Junior Suites in the main building are especially comfortable, combining space with easy access to everything the property offers.

Dining here is another standout. As an all-inclusive, the quality and variety of food is far above the norm. Multiple restaurants serve everything from fresh, casual bites to refined dining experiences—all prepared with thoughtful attention to flavor and presentation.
What makes Cayo Levantado unique is the balance between activity and relaxation. The resort has a strong wellness program—yoga, sound baths, spa treatments, and even dedicated “wellness pathways”—but nothing is mandatory. You can lean into wellness experiences or simply spend your days by the two pools or on the beautiful swimmable beach.
The staff is exceptional, bringing warmth and genuine care to every interaction. From the first welcome to the last goodbye, they elevate the stay and make the island feel like home.
Cayo Levantado is perfect for those seeking quiet luxury, natural beauty, and a more off-the-beaten-path Dominican Republic experience. It’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy an island retreat that feels different from anywhere else.
