Site Visit XV Beacon in Boston
Curator’s statement

Located in Boston's historic Beacon Hill, this 63-room property is in a turn of the century Beaux Arts Building, and is known for luxury, service and discretion. There is an original glass caged elevator and doorman present 24/7. There are also two-house Lexus SUV's that you can reserve to take you anywhere within a two-mile radius. We used this multiple times per day. The Beacon Hill location is elegant and refined and adjacent to Boston Common and the State Building, it is also a 5 minute walk from Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market.

The gym is small, but functional and a fun fact here is that the equipment was all hand chosen by Tom Brady, as this hotel is his parents' choice whenever they are in town. I got the impression that they have many famous guests during my lunch with the head of sales, Kara Smith, at their in-house restaurant Moo, more on that later.

There is also a seasonal rooftop with lounge chairs and a hot tub where guests can watch the July 4th and NYE fireworks displays, reserve early!

Arrival Information:

Guests can arrive by car and valet ($68) as we did, or fly into Logan Airport, which is under 3 miles (15-45 minutes depending on traffic) from the XV. The hotel cannot pick up at the airport, but will drop off for a flat $40 fee.

Magnificent entrance of the hotel

Hotel Room Categories

There are 63 rooms on the property with seven different room types. Every room comes equipped with a gas fireplace. There are three classic rooms (300-390 sq ft), two larger studio categories (485 sq ft) and two suites (970-1400 sq ft.) Room highlights are fireplaces, cashmere throws, pillow menu, Nespresso machine, nightly turndown, Jonathan Adler individual bath products, bath salt menu, heated towel rack, rain shower, premium private bar, Frette robes and linens and much more.

The following pics are of a Boston Common Studio (with pull out sofa) at 485 sq ft. I stayed in this room and was unable to see any others as they were all booked. Love the Vitamin C packets provided with the water bottles, nice touch!

A splendid room
A fantastic art corner
Cleanliness and elegance
Elegant placement of bath towels
Complimentary welcome dessert

Best Time to Visit

This hotel would be fantastic to book on July 4th or NYE because of the deck with an unobstructed view of the fireworks. Reserve early!

Guest Experience

Great sense of place and history at this luxury property. On site restaurant, Moo, is truly swank and special with prices to match. There is always a doorman present to greet you by name and the town car was always available for us. Loved having drinks and dinner at Moo. Their signature dish is a Beef Wellington that is the stuff of dreams.
