Miami Beach EDITION Site Inspection
Curator’s statement

I had the pleasure of experiencing the Miami Beach EDITION this Monday for a site inspection. The hotel had a very modern and minimalist feel to it! Very family-friendly as all pools accommodates children.

There are 294 spacious guest rooms and suites with views of the ocean and city, with 28 bungalows with private outdoor space — some with two stories and plunge pool. I had the pleasure of seeing a king private bungalow with outdoor space (ocean view) and it was spacious with a private soaking tub (note: not offered in all bungalows). They have some bungalow areas that allow three bedrooms to be blocked off in their own area, perfect for a small group.

They also offer a one-of-a-kind 2,000 square foot Penthouse with an expansive terrace overlooking the ocean as well as a bi-level Bungalow Penthouse, with private elevator and private rooftop plunge pool.

In regards to dining options, they have Matador Room, a restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Market, a gourmet marketplace with a variety of food and beverages for dining in or on the go.

The outdoor entertainment is great. They offer two outdoor pools with outdoor bars, personal cabanas and lounge areas, as well as 70,000 square feet of beach front. They also have games like corn hole on site as well.

What I found most unique was the basement area that has a full floor of entertainment complete with a bowling alley, ice-skating rink and nightclub all with a state-of-the-art sound system and lighting effects. This turns into an adult-only area at night.

They also have a fitness center as well as a full service 1,800 square foot spa offering the latest treatments with a co-ed relaxation room while you wait for your treatments.

Well designed hotel

Overall, I found the hotel to be very clean and modern resort, geared more towards an upscale family friendly vibe, that still allows for adult fun in the evenings.
