Canopy By Hilton Scottsdale Old Town Site Inspection
Curator’s statement

This lovely boutique hotel in Scottsdale Old Town was my first stop on a 10 day road-trip from Arizona to New Mexico and back in April during Spring break. I had the pleasure of being taken on a hotel tour.

The hotel was fully sold out so unfortunately, I didn't get to see any of the rooms but I was led on an in-depth tour of the meeting facilities, rooftop deck and pool area. I was also introduced to the events team at Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West nextdoor, where they co-host events for the hotel when larger spaces are needed.

Canopy by Hilton is Hilton's "upper upscale lifestyle brand hotels". These boutique-sized hotels pride themselves on being located in the world's most dynamic cities and they focus on being an extension of the community in which they're a part of. You'll immediately notice this upon entering the hotel lobby, filled with local art on the walls and products featured in their small gift shop. There are bikes for rent so guests can enjoy the Scottsdale neighborhood. Food and drinks offered at the hotel restaurant and rooftop lounge feature local flavors and a perfect Scottsdale view.

I learned a lot about the meeting spaces they offer as I was exploring this hotel for a small corporate event I'll be planning. Their meeting space is perfect for 30 to 80 people and they hosts lunches in their main restaurant and cocktails on the wrap-around rooftop deck. For larger groups, they'll host these events at the Western Museum across the way.

FACILITIES:

  • 4 suites

  • Heated & Cooled Pools on the roof with a view of the mountains and Old Town Scottsdale

  • 1 restaurant

  • 1 cafe

  • 1 roof top lounge

  • gym

  • bike rentals

  • parking garage

PROS:

  • Modern bright hotel with really clean spacious rooms and the most comfortable beds.

  • Right in Scottsdale Old Town for convenience

  • Excellent breakfast and cocktails

  • Rooftop view

  • Focus on local artists and really feel like the community

In summary, I'd recommend this hotel for families or couples looking for a short stay in Scottsdale. The hotel offers convenience, local flavor, good friendly service and spacious rooms.
