Hermitage Bay offers a rare blend of barefoot luxury and personal connection, making it one of the most peaceful and well-executed resorts we have ever experienced. From the fast-tracked airport arrival to the warm welcome with cool towels and tropical drinks, every detail is designed to put you at ease. The property feels incredibly private and quiet, nestled between lush hillsides and a stunning, shell-speckled beach with calm turquoise water. Whether you are sipping cocktails beachside, relaxing on your villa porch, or swinging in the hammock with nothing but ocean sounds, Hermitage creates space to truly slow down and disconnect.

The all-inclusive food and drink program is exceptional—especially dinner and the sunset sushi experience. Breakfast is consistent, although a bit repetitive, and lunch stands out thanks to its beachfront setting, creative cocktails, and live music. Sushi at sunset is limited to just a few seats, but it is worth planning for—it is beautifully crafted and full of flavor. Dinner is where the kitchen shines, offering rotating chef specials, themed nights, and fresh, farm-to-table ingredients that rival top-tier restaurants. With flexible reservations and all-day bar food, it is easy to snack or sit down whenever hunger strikes.

Included amenities such as paddleboards, hobby cats, kayaks, and snorkel gear add to the laid-back luxury vibe. We loved kayaking to a nearby beach and snorkeling just off the resort’s shoreline, where we spotted starfish, stingrays, and schools of fish. The spa offers quality treatments, though the experience is simple compared to destination spas. One of our favorite excursions was a full-day island circumnavigation arranged through the resort, which included snorkeling, beach stops, and local history, with the convenience of pick-up right from Hermitage’s beach.

Service is where Hermitage Bay truly stands out. Every team member we encountered was friendly, thoughtful, and genuinely happy to help, even anticipating needs before we voiced them. Whether setting up beach chairs, remembering drink preferences, or going out of their way to meet special requests, the staff made us feel seen and appreciated. The natural beauty of the resort is breathtaking, from the lush green hills to the sparkling turquoise bay, and the small scale of the property adds to its charm with only around 60 guests at a time. It feels intimate, peaceful, and completely unhurried. While the bedding was not quite as plush as the rest of the experience, and bugs were occasionally noticeable around dusk, these were small inconveniences during an otherwise exceptional stay. For couples, honeymooners, or anyone seeking space to recharge in a luxurious, natural setting, Hermitage Bay delivers a truly unforgettable escape.
