Curator’s statement

In April of 2023, I enjoyed a splendid spring break in Oahu, Hawaii, with my teenage daughter, staying at the Sheraton Waikiki. This dynamic trip featured a blend of beachfront relaxation, ocean adventures, shopping excursions and culinary delights, all set in a vibrant and walkable neighborhood. The Sheraton Waikiki's extensive offerings guaranteed each day was a unique and memorable experience, leaving me eager to return for various future travel occasions and wholeheartedly recommending it to fellow travelers seeking an all-encompassing retreat.

The Resort

Nestled on the shores of Oahu, the Sheraton Waikiki is a renowned 31-story beachfront resort with 1,636 rooms and suites, offering awe-inspiring ocean views that will leave you breathless. Positioned right on Waikiki Beach, it's an oasis of relaxation and adventure. Within walking distance, upscale shopping and family-friendly activities await, ensuring everyone finds their slice of Hawaiian paradise. Award-winning outdoor pools invite you to unwind, while a modern fitness center keeps you active. Culinary delights inspired by global flavors await at on-site dining venues. Above all, the Sheraton Waikiki is a welcoming haven, inviting guests to feel at ease, whether they're relaxing, working, meeting or celebrating, making it the perfect setting for an unforgettable Hawaiian escape.

Amazing location

The Sheraton Waikiki is conveniently situated just a quick 30-minute drive from the Honolulu International Airport, making it incredibly accessible for travelers. What truly sets this hotel apart is its prime position in the vibrant neighborhood of Waikiki, renowned for its pedestrian-friendly layout. A standout feature of our trip was undoubtedly the hotel's strategic location, which eliminated the need for renting a car as we effortlessly explored the charming streets of Waikiki on foot. These lively streets are brimming with fashionable shops, enticing dining establishments and an infectious atmosphere that effortlessly immerses you in the local scene. Yet, the true highlight is the beach, the epicenter of all the action, enveloping the entire area with its sparkling allure.

Culinary Delights

Our culinary experience at the Sheraton Waikiki was a memorable journey. Upon arrival, we savored the flavors of poke bowls and avocado toast at the Edge of Waikiki pool bar. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we relished fish tacos and skillfully crafted cocktails at RumFire, serenaded by live music while watching the sunset. Honolulu Coffee provided quick, tasty bites in between adventures. Beyond the hotel, Waikiki is a culinary paradise with a variety of dining options within walking distance, catering to diverse tastes, from casual to upscale. A charming find was a local Hawaiian Banan soft-serve shop tucked away on a picturesque surfboard-lined lane. And, not to be missed, my teenage daughter enjoyed a daily tradition of Hawaiian shaved ice, the perfect treat for our sunny afternoons.

Water adventures and more

The Sheraton Waikiki offers a diverse array of resort activities, from koi fish feeding and lei making to engaging ukulele lessons and yoga sessions. I added a touch of fun by joining a water Zumba class, to my teenage daughter's amusement. Beyond the resort's offerings, the prime beachfront location allowed us to delve into various water activities. We opted for paddleboard rentals, offering fantastic views of the local surf scene, while the Holokai Catamaran's Turtle Canyon Adventure Sail, conveniently boarding at the beach, treated us to thrilling snorkeling at Turtle Canyon and a scenic sail towards Diamond Head. The icing on the cake was the Sheraton Waikiki's complimentary GoPro camera, which enabled us to capture all the thrilling moments, from swimming alongside sea turtles to our paddleboarding escapades.

Need to Know

Nestled on the beachfront, the Sheraton Waikiki boasts breathtaking ocean vistas and a bustling yet accessible neighborhood, setting the stage for a diverse array of adventures. Whether you seek tranquil relaxation, thrilling escapades, delectable cuisine or cherished moments with loved ones, this resort has it all. Our experience at the Sheraton Waikiki has left us eagerly awaiting our return, making it a top recommendation for travelers in pursuit of an immersive Hawaiian escape.
