Our first time sailing Princess could not have been more pleasurable. We enjoyed everything from music and venues, to staff providing brilliant care, and wonderful dining experiences in the main dining room (MDR).
Bridge tour
Something that was immediately impressive was the technology on board. The Medallions connect you to the ship’s wifi, acts as your cabin key and GPS location for servers and venues. We never had to tap or swipe to access our cabin. The tablet at the door recognized our physical presence and unlocked the door for us. Servers and bartenders could see your face icon on their registers, and ring your order. No paper bill to sign and return!

Our cabin
We enjoyed several musical acts ranging from solo performers to rock bands. It was also a particularly good variety available, featuring R&B, reggae, and yacht rock. We, and many others, spent several evenings at Crooners enjoying the piano and songs from our younger days.
Locust Pool
If you are a “foodie” you will enjoy the menu in the MDR. There was an extensive variety, along with some solid everyday choices as well. Early on our cruise, we befriended two couples from the UK. We opted to dine together for the duration of our cruise. On our third evening, we landed at the perfect table (round for six) and a fantastic wait staff. Raymond and Mojes took excellent care of us and helped make wonderful memories.
Horizons Buffet
I would be remiss to not also mention two other crew members: Lizabeth at Good Spirits and our cabin steward, Augustin. Both of these people always went beyond all expectations and made sure we were always comfortable and well-taken care of.

We are looking forward to sailing with Princess again in the future!
Island Princess in port
Need to know
The Island Princess is the oldest ship in the fleet, so it is smaller and doesn’t have all the specialty options that newer and larger ships have. But she was still quite enjoyable!
