Tour of Villa Petriolo in Tuscany
Curator’s statement

In October 2023, I did a site inspection while staying at the estate of Villa Petriolo in Tuscany. While being open for just 2 years, the property is beautifully curated, the staff are friendly and the restaurants are top quality. I can’t wait to return again and I highly recommend it to my clients.

Location

The hotel is located 40 minutes outside of Florence, Italy.

Transportation

I recommend flying into Florence and renting a car to drive to the estate.

History

The villa was opened in 2021 after being restored along with an organic farm being built around the property. Keeping much of the elegance, the rooms are a balance of modern and historic. The goal of the property is to protect ancient farm traditions while encompassing a modern lifestyle.

Spa

Villa Petriolo opened their recently renovated spa, complete with a 2-hour-long wellness experience. This includes a vitality pool, water paradise, mediterranean bath, panoramic sauna, steam bath, ice room, and relaxation room. The spa also offers massages, facials, and epilation treatments.

Restaurants

Villa Petriolo has 3 restaurants on site: PS Ristorante, Osteria di Golpaja, and Bottega di Petriolo. The first, PS, includes stunning dishes curated by a Green Michelin Star chef. Dining at PS is an experience sure to awaken your taste buds. Osteria di Golpaja includes local dishes made with fresh ingredients grown on property. Bread is made fresh daily with ancient grains grown on property. Golpaja sticks to ancient practices and ensures the highest quality of ingredients. Bottega di Petriolo is a mini bistrot that serves wine tastings and small bites to eat (a perfect spot to sit and watch the sunset over the hills).

Regenerative Farm

The property is surrounded by its modern farm life. As you drive into the property, you will be greeted by donkeys, sheep, and chickens. Everything grown on the property is to be used in the restaurants. The property also has its own water filtration system to reuse the water waste.

Activities

Take a cooking class, ride horses through the hills, enjoy a wine tasting, or hunt truffles with an expert. There are many activities to choose from when visiting the estate. You can even hike on the many paths around the property (trail maps are provided).

Rooms

There are 35 suites on site of varying sizes, with 7 more currently being renovated. Each room is beautifully decorated and includes bath products made on site with herbs and honey from the garden. There are double bedrooms available for groups or families.

Pool

There is a stunning infinity pool overlooking the property, a hot jacuzzi, and a poolside bar.

Need to Know

I recommend Villa Petriolo for my clients looking for a secluded honeymoon location, a romantic couple’s getaway, or a relaxing girls' trip. The stunning property has something for everyone and is a great place to take a break from everyday life. The estate would also be a great location for a destination wedding, including a private villa with 9 rooms total for rent. Email me to start planning your dream Tuscan getaway!
