Curator’s statement
I recommend the JW Marriott Reston Station in Reston, VA because it brings a true sense of luxury to the Reston–Dulles area—something the Reston area and Dulles corridor has been missing. Opened in September 2025 as part of Reston’s business and residential expansion, it is fresh and welcoming, with high ceilings, cozy nooks, and spaces perfect for a quick call or relaxing break. Perfectly positioned across from the Silver Line Metro, this property is ideal for both business travelers and weekend getaways.

In a frankly uninspiring landscape along the Reston-Dulles corridor filled with forgettable hotels, this JW Marriott is special and welcoming, starting with the bright, modern lobby.

Accommodation
Guest rooms are designed for both business and leisure travelers who appreciate luxurious details. All of the rooms are spacious—larger than the area average—and brand new. Options include two queen rooms, one King, junior suites, and executive suites, each featuring high-end amenities, separate showers and water closets, and modern, stylish furnishings.

1 King Room Junior Suite
For wellness-minded guests, I would recommend booking one of the 13 “Mindful” rooms on the fifth floor that offer in-room yoga mats, weights, handheld massagers, and cozy throws.

Amenities
There is an onsite fitness center, which is also brand new, well-stocked, and filled with natural light, overlooking the communal green space and terrace. If that does not suffice, next door is a VIDA Fitness gym—ask the Concierge to arrange for a day pass. The hotel does not have a pool or hot tub, but VIDA offers a rooftop pool during the summer season.

Dining
In terms of food and beverages, the JW Market café offers food that is freshly prepared on site, from coffee to pastries, a real step above typical hotel grab-and-go options. The dining spaces are equally inviting. The main restaurant, The Simon, is chic and full of personality, with curios from the owner’s collection and a flexible layout that works for breakfast, business lunches, or dinner. The Schar Bar seats 30+ for cocktails or happy hours.

There is also a private dining room in the back, with A/V and a terrace, perfect for small events, corporate meetings, or gatherings. It’s stylish, functional, and thoughtfully designed for both business and leisure.
Event spaces
The fifth-floor executive lounge is a beautiful, purpose-built space with work areas, a fireplace, and seating for meals or snacks. It also features a boardroom for up to ten guests. Guests with Platinum status with Marriott Bonvoy and above can reserve it on a first-come, first-served basis. Gold status and above can pay a fee per day.

Executive Lounge, bookable board room
For larger gatherings, the third-floor ballrooms and event spaces are thoughtfully designed with purpose-built tables, chairs, and even whiteboard walls—everything needed for professional events or social functions in one elegant setting. For corporate events, they can also sync dynamic digital signage inside the hotel and outside in common areas with your company logo or branding.

Location
The location of the hotel is a major advantage. It’s perfectly situated near the Reston business district, and within striking distance of Dulles, Tysons, and downtown Washington, DC, right on the Dulles Toll Road and Silver Line. Ideal for anyone visiting the area or needing early access to Dulles Airport, the hotel offers convenience with walkable restaurants and entertainment, shopping, ample garage parking, valet service, and direct access to the Silver Line Metro and nearby bus transit.

Need to know
Overall, this property is ideal for discerning business or leisure travelers who value both comfort and convenience, and is absolutely the nicest hotel in the Reston and Dulles area.
Don’t miss ordering a lavender latte and fresh pastry at the JW Market café, and the Maryland crab roll at The Simon.
While the JW Marriott Reston Station is primarily geared toward business and corporate travelers, families would be comfortable here as well. I recommend booking a 1 King Junior Suite and requesting an adjoining room (usually a 2 queen) for extra space. There is also car-free space right outside to run around, and a swing set in the common area.
