Inside Andaz Maui: One of Wailea's Most Stylish Luxury Resorts
Curator’s statement

During my visit to Maui in February 2026, Andaz Maui immediately stood out as one of the most visually stunning and thoughtfully designed resorts I toured. While many luxury resorts in Hawai’i focus on grand scale, Andaz Maui feels more intimate, contemporary, andproperty’s connected to its oceanfront setting. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the propproperty’serty's seamless blend of modern luxury, exceptional service, and breathtaking views of Wailea Beach. It is the type of resort I find myself recommending frequently to honeymooners, couples, and travelers seeking a sophisticated Maui experience.

Perched along Maui’s beautiful Wailea coastline, Andaz Maui offers a luxury experience that feels distinctly different from many of the island’s larger resorts. Rather than focusing on grand lobbies and sprawling public spaces, the resort emphasizes contemporary design, personalized service, and a strong connection to the natural beauty surrounding it. During my site visit, I was immediately drawn to the property’s open-air layout, stunning ocean views, and relaxed sophistication that carries throughout the entire resort.

One of Andaz Maui’s most impressive features is its setting on Mokapu Beach, one of Wailea’s most beautiful stretches of sand. The resort’s cascading infinity pools overlook the Pacific Ocean and create one of the most iconic views on Maui. Whether guests are relaxing poolside, walking along the Wailea Beach Path, or enjoying a sunset cocktail overlooking the water, the ocean is a constant presence throughout the experience. The overall atmosphere feels peaceful and refined, making it particularly appealing to couples and travelers seeking a more tranquil escape.

Dining is another area where Andaz Maui excels. The resort offers a variety of excellent culinary experiences, ranging from casual poolside dining to elevated restaurants showcasing fresh island ingredients. The complimentary breakfast included through Hyatt Privé is especially valuable and one of my favorite advisor perks to secure for clients. Beyond the resort, guests are also within easy reach of Wailea’s excellent dining scene, luxury shopping, and championship golf courses.

I most often recommend Andaz Maui to honeymooners, couples celebrating special occasions, and travelers who appreciate modern luxury design. While families are certainly welcome, the resort’s atmosphere naturally appeals to guests seeking a quieter and more sophisticated experience. Travelers looking for extensive water slides, lazy rivers, and large-scale family programming may be happier at another property, but those seeking beautiful accommodations, exceptional service, and a strong sense of place will find Andaz Maui incredibly rewarding.

The accommodations are among the most stylish on Maui, featuring clean contemporary design, spa-inspired bathrooms, and private lanais. For clients celebrating a special occasion, I often recommend considering an upgrade to one of the suites or residential-style villas. These accommodations provide additional space, enhanced privacy and some of the most spectacular views on the island. What ultimately sets Andaz Maui apart is its ability to deliver luxury that feels relaxed rather than formal. The resort captures the beauty of Maui while maintaining an atmosphere that is elegant, approachable, and unmistakably Hawaiian.

Need to know

Wailea is one of Maui’s most desirable resort areas, known for its beautiful beaches, luxury resorts, and consistently sunny weather. While Andaz Maui offers plenty of opportunities to relax, I recommend renting a car so you can fully explore the island. Popular experiences such as Haleakala National Park, the Road to Hana, snorkeling excursions to Molokini Crater, and Upcountry Maui are all worth adding to your itinerary. Because Andaz Maui is a relatively intimate luxury resort with a loyal following, preferred room categories and suites often book well in advance, particularly during peak travel seasons.

For travelers celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or milestone occasion, I recommend securing accommodations early and working with an advisor to access available upgrades, breakfast, and additional amenities that can significantly enhance the overall experience.
