Curator’s statement
The Valiant Lady is a bold, high-energy take on cruising, blending modern design with a lively, social atmosphere from the moment you step onboard and greet the DJ at the front door. It’s best for cruisers who enjoy being in the mix—in short, an extroverted, experience-driven client who craves a lively, stimulating atmosphere and lots of agency to decide where to dine, lounge, and play. While the cabins are smaller and less design-forward than some competitors, the overall experience shines in its vibrant spaces, expansive dining options, and nonstop energy. For the right traveler, Virgin Voyages delivers a fun, engaging, and refreshingly different cruise experience with a modern twist.

From the moment you step on board, the energy is undeniable. You’re greeted with music, a live DJ, and Champagne—setting the tone for a cruise that feels more like a curated social experience than a traditional sailing.
My take
Virgin Voyages is a refreshing addition to the cruise industry. While the brand has been around for a few years, it’s now hitting its stride and gaining recognition in a meaningful way. The vibe is fun-forward—think a more elevated, adults-only version of what Carnival Cruise Line has long been known for: high-energy, social, and entertainment-driven.
This product is not for everyone—and that’s a good thing.

Best suited for
Younger (or young-at-heart) travelers. I don’t think seasoned or older travelers past 65 years old would enjoy this ship.
Extroverts who enjoy social environments
Groups, girls trips, milestone celebrations
Clients who want a lively, “see and be seen” atmosphere

The entrance at The Manor nightclub. You feel like a rock star going through the entrance!
Less ideal for
Reserved or introverted travelers
Clients seeking quiet, traditional luxury
Anyone easily overstimulated by crowds or constant activity
If you’re recommending a 3–5 night sailing, set expectations clearly: this is a nonstop, high-energy experience.
For clients who want a more balanced pace, I suggest:
Longer itineraries
Sailings with more port days
Destinations with a slightly higher price point (naturally moderates the crowd)
Accommodations
The cabins are functional but on the smaller side.
Design is modern, stark and bright, but not as visually polished as competitors like Celebrity Cruises or Royal Caribbean. Celebrity has a soft color palette. Virgin's is harsher, with a rockstar vibe.
Some design choices feel more trendy than practical.
Notes:
Curtains as closet doors: Not a favorite; feels less refined
Beds can be configured vertically and horizontally, which is unique and useful for flexibility.
Best advice: plan to spend more time outside your cabin

Cabin recommendations
Sea Terrace (minimum recommendation): Worth it for space, balcony, and overall comfort. Get a Central one so you can be mid-ship, especially if you are prone to sea sickness.
XL Sea Terrace: Ideal for travelers who need more vanity space (great for two people sharing a room)
Solo Insider Cabin: It is extremely tight and dark—comparable to a half-sized dorm room. I don’t recommend purchasing this unless you are very budget conscious. Try to splurge for an upgrade.

The Solo Insider Cabin
Dining
The Galley: This was a highlight. It’s like an upscale food court that has made-to-order meals from everything from sushi to tacos to (very) good burgers. There is no traditional buffet on this ship.
The Wake: An elevated steak and seafood with beautiful ocean views
Dock House / The Dock: One of the best spaces onboard—it is relaxed, stylish...and has the best rosé selection, along with live music. There is an arcade nearby and also board games available.
The Manor: A high-energy nightlife with a dramatic mirrored entrance
The ship excels at creating distinct social environments—you can go from chill lounge to full-on party within minutes.
Overall assessment
This is what Virgin does well.
It has a strong, differentiated brand identity and their marketing tactics are engaging.
It has an elevated “fun” atmosphere, without being tacky.
Their inclusive pricing model is enticing (dining, tips, Wi-Fi)
It’s great for groups, sociable travelers, and young clients.
Some cruises leave from the Brooklyn Red Hook Terminal, which is economical.
Considerations
Cabins are smaller and less refined than some competitors.
The design choices won’t appeal to everyone.
Virgin's high-energy environment may be overwhelming on shorter sailings.

Need to know
Valiant Lady delivers a modern, energetic cruise experience that fills a welcomed space in the market. Virgin Voyages cruise ships are not trying to be traditional—and that’s exactly why I think it is so popular.
It’s a refreshing brand, and a strong, well-executed contender for the right type of client. If you are intentional about who you send, you will have one loyal and happy client—or customer!
