Carmel Valley Ranch for the Family
Curator’s statement

This trip was a small getaway for Father’s Day. We get so it was extra special because it was local but yet far enough to be away from home.

Carmel Valley Ranch was a very nice destination for a quick weekend getaway trip. There’s‌ a lot to do on the ranch itself. We‌ booked a Little Rancher experience, although while we did have two kids, only our older one was able to participate. It was extra cute and special because each child got to feed the animals, pet them, and socialize with them. In addition, the resort has a lot to do. They have golf, a swimming pool, and other free and fee-based activities as well. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and the pool was‌ heated so it was quite pleasant.

We did enjoy some perks as well. We had daily breakfast at the buffet and while the variety was not like an all-inclusive, it was good enough. Some days, our kids ordered customize-your-own omelets and other days they also have fire-grilled pizza for dinner.

The room itself is spacious. We liked how it had a living room area that could be closed off to the bathroom and bedroom. It makes napping for little ones a lot easier.

There’s a lot of beautiful gardens and hikes around where we were able to see some vultures while we were hiking around the vineyard in the ‌golf course area.

All in all, I do highly recommend the ranch for families. If you don’t plan to stay on the ranch, you can also go to nearby cities like Monterey or Carmel By The Sea. We did a side trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the kids loved it.

Need to know

We did order a full-size crib from BabyQuip and we did ask for a rollaway bed because the room that we got was a king-size bed and we had two kids. The bedroom was spacious enough to have a crib and a rollaway bed.
