I had the best stay at The Cottages at the Nantucket Boat Basin. The location is truly unbeatable—right on the water in the harbor, just steps from downtown shops, restaurants, and most of the town’s main attractions. It’s an easy walk to just about everything, especially favorites like Handlebar Café for coffee, Cru for a lively waterfront dinner, and The Gazebo for that must-try Mudslide. It’s also very close to the Stop & Shop, and the hotel will even do the grocery shopping for you so your fridge is stocked upon arrival, it was such a great and convenient touch!

While everything in town is within walking distance, the property also offers a complimentary shuttle to all the beaches and to Cisco Brewers, which was such a great perk. The shuttles run on a first-come, first-served basis, but we never had to wait more than 15–20 minutes. For those who want to explore even more, bike rentals are available right on-site, making it easy to discover the island at your own pace.

The cottages themselves are charming and comfortable, with different room options to suit couples, families, or groups. Mine was spotless and beautifully decorated in coastal style, complete with a well-stocked kitchenette and a relaxing seating area that made it feel like our own little Nantucket hideaway.

The amenities go above and beyond! They provided beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, and coolers so you can pack light. There’s also complimentary ice cream in the office every day, which became our favorite afternoon treat after long, sunny beach days. Waking up to harbor views each morning was the perfect start to the day, and coming back to a peaceful, cozy cottage at night made the trip feel extra special.

I would absolutely recommend The Cottages for anyone looking for a charming, convenient, and quintessential Nantucket experience. I can’t wait to return!
