Curator’s statement
This was a five-day cruise out of the Port of Tampa. My wife and I decided to take a quick cruise for our anniversary to unwind, relax, and be pampered for a few days. Enchantment of the Seas is Royal Caribbean Cruises' third-oldest Vision Class ship, revitalized in 2016.

I scheduled this cruise following a Mediterranean cruise we completed in May. I thought it would be nice to get away and celebrate our anniversary on a cruise where we could get our exercise in during the morning, relax by the pool and read in the afternoon, and catch dinner and a show in the evening with a little gambling thrown in if the feeling hit. We were looking for a smaller, laid-back ship rather than the big megaship experience.

Smaller ship than the megaships!

We arrived for an early check-in around noon and prepaid for parking in the garage across the street. The rooms were not available until 1 pm, but we were able to quickly drop our bags off and head up to the Windjammer for lunch. They had a good selection of food for both breakfast and lunch, plenty of seating, and a great view of the ocean. We ate dinner at 5 pm in the Main Dining Room, My Fair Lady. Both our waiter and his assistant were very attentive to our preferences during the length of the cruise. We would usually scan the app to see what activities were available to squeeze in before and after the show at 7:30. The production shows as well as the comedy and magic shows were very entertaining.

We had two "at sea" days. Although September is peak hurricane season, the seas couldn't have been calmer. We had one day in Costa Maya where we lounged on the beach for a bit before walking around the local shops at the port and then coming back to the ship for lunch. The second stop was in Cozumel, where we stayed on the ship for two reasons: first was that we had been there a few times before and were being lazy, second because thunder showers were blowing through and we didn’t want to get stuck in the storm. Our alternate plan was to lounge around the pool and read!

Disembarkation was easy. We got up early to grab breakfast in the Windjammer before we had to vacate the stateroom at 8 am. We carried our luggage off with us so we were able to leave promptly. Exiting the parking garage was easy and traffic was light at that time of the morning.
Need to know
We typically travel light with only a carry-on and a day pack, which makes embarking and disembarking a little easier.
I did not get the internet package but used Verizon's Cruise Pass, which worked well for email monitoring at sea. I did not do any streaming!
Prepay online for parking to save an extra day charge that will happen if you pay at the booth!
