Curator’s statement
A stay at Sanctuary Cap Cana is less about simply checking into a resort and more about stepping into a carefully curated world where romance, architecture, and atmosphere intertwine. Designed to resemble a Spanish colonial village perched above the Caribbean, the property feels both grand and intimate, with stone pathways, ocean-view terraces, and a castle-like silhouette that creates a sense of timeless escape.

Sanctuary Cap Cana is one of those rare properties that immediately sets the tone for a trip the moment you arrive. The architecture alone creates a sense of place—designed like a Spanish colonial village with a dramatic castle at its center, it feels romantic, elevated, and quietly transportive. What I love most is how the resort balances visual impact with intimacy. Despite its grandeur, it never feels overwhelming. The layout naturally encourages slow mornings, long oceanfront walks, and evenings that unfold at an unhurried, indulgent pace.

What truly sets Sanctuary Cap Cana apart is its location within the gated Cap Cana community. This gives clients a level of exclusivity and calm that is hard to replicate in Punta Cana. The beaches feel more private, the service is more personalized, and the overall atmosphere leans refined rather than high-energy. I find this property works beautifully for couples, honeymooners, or anyone celebrating something meaningful. It is not a party resort—it is a place for connection, relaxation, and elevated all-inclusive experiences without sacrificing quality.

One of my favorite recommendations for clients staying here is to get off-property for a curated experience like Monkeyland Dominican Republic. Seeing the monkeys up close is such a memorable and genuinely joyful moment, adding a layer of adventure and personality to the trip that balances the resort’s more tranquil rhythm. It is especially great for couples or small groups who want one standout experience they will talk about long after the trip ends.
Need to know
When it comes to the all-inclusive experience at Sanctuary Cap Cana, it’s important for travelers to understand that this is a more elevated, curated version of all-inclusive rather than a “more is more” approach. The food and beverage program leans quality over quantity, with thoughtfully designed menus, à la carte dining (a buffet is available, but isn't the only option), and a strong emphasis on ambiance.
