Three Reasons You Should Book A Disney Cruise (From a Non-Disney Adult)
Curator’s statement

I have always been a cruiser, but I have never been a “Disney” person. So, why did I just book my family’s fourth Disney cruise in less than three years? Below are my top three reasons I keep cruising with Mickey, and why you should too!

1. There is something for everyone on a Disney cruise

If you are looking for a multi-generational vacation where you can bring your whole family, especially grandparents, a Disney cruise is the perfect choice. There are activities and experiences for everyone on board from ages 0–100. For kids, you have the nursery, kids club, and teen club with special character experiences, crafts, storytelling, and interactive play spaces that only Disney can dream up.

Characters are always walking around the boat to say hello!

While the little ones are busy playing with Mickey in the kids club, check out one of the many adult spaces on board, including bars, restaurants, pools, and lounges where you can enjoy specialty coffees, cocktails, and adult experiences like wine and alcohol tastings and pairings.

And because it’s Disney, every space on board is thoughtfully designed with beautifully themed décor from all of your favorite Disney movies. My personal favorite is the ofrenda at the Plaza de Coco restaurant aboard the Treasure.

Pro tip: Purchase a Senses Spa day pass for a few hours of relaxation while your kids spend time in the kids club.

2. Experience Disney magic without the stress

If your family loves Disney, but you are not ready for the planning and logistics of a trip to Disney World, a cruise is a great alternative. On a Disney cruise, there are no Lightning Lane Passes, rope drops at the crack of dawn, or running around the parks all day. Meals, entertainment, activities, and childcare are all built in to your vacation experience. You’ll still be able to meet your favorite princesses, enjoy the many Disney treats and eats (Mickey bars at every meal!), and experience all the magic, just in a more relaxed setting.

Pro tip: There are a lot of insider tips, tricks, and extra optional activities that I can help you navigate when you book your cruise with me.

And of course, Captain Mickey!

3. The unmatched service & quality

Details, details, details! That is what Disney does best, and it shows on board every ship, starting with the level of service. Our server on the Treasure knew that my daughter’s favorite dessert was an ice cream sundae, so he had it ready for her after every dinner. Our room attendant remembered my son loves elephants, so he made sure a towel elephant was waiting for him on his bed at night. Crew members stay focused on making sure they pixie-dust these special details throughout your cruise to make it as personalized as possible.

Disney also takes cleanliness and quality very seriously. From the timed automatic hand-washing machines that every child must use before entering the kids club, to the Broadway-caliber shows and parties, everything they do is top-notch. You will feel like you are on a floating 5-star resort. There is a reason DCL consistently ranks among the top cruise lines for overall experience, family satisfaction, and cleanliness.

Pro tip: Make sure your kids get a good nap during the day of the big Pirate Night Deck Party so they can stay up to watch the fireworks! DCL is the only major cruise line allowed to feature fireworks because they use environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials that do not harm marine life.

Need to know

Not only will I be able to give you the inside scoop on all of the DCL must-dos and how-tos, but I will also guide you through the fun and unique (and optional, but oh-so fun) traditions that are fully run by Disney cruise passengers, like the “fish extender” gift exchange, door magnet contests, and “pixie dusting.”
