Resort Spotlight: My Stay at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas

Warm welcome & seamless arrival

From the moment we arrived, my husband and I were treated with the kind of warm, thoughtful service you expect from the Ritz-Carlton brand. The staff was kind and attentive at every turn, and we were delighted to find a special welcome amenity waiting in our room after check-in. The resort offers self-parking and valet service. Self-parking is very close to the entrance, so it’s a great option if you prefer to come and go easily.

Our room: Tower King

We stayed in a Tower King Room, which was cozy, bright, and impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable (we slept like royalty), and the spacious bathroom was beautifully appointed.

Our room overlooked the pool, and we even had a view of fireworks from our Juliet balcony on Saturday night—a magical surprise!

Travel tip: The windows have stylish shutters instead of blackout curtains, so if you’re sensitive to light in the morning, I recommend packing an eye mask.

Elevated experience: The Club Lounge

We chose to upgrade to Club Level access, and it made our stay even more relaxing. The Club Lounge offers:

• Daily breakfast

• Light lunch options

• Afternoon snacks and evening desserts

• A wide selection of beverages (including wine and cocktails)

• Friendly, personalized service

The space is elegant and calm—perfect for taking a break during the day or grabbing a quiet drink before dinner. The concierge even helped us with a last-minute dinner reservation, which was a lifesaver!

There are several dining options on the property, and while we didn’t get to try them all, here are the ones we did experience:

• Knife Italian: Stylish and delicious. We shared a pizza and salad, and every bite was amazing. The ambiance is upscale but welcoming.

• Aire Libre (pool bar): Great for a light lunch or snack while lounging poolside. Everything we tried was flavorful and fresh.

• Juniper (lobby bar): We didn’t eat here, but the craft cocktails were excellent.

Still on my list for next time: Outlaw Taproom, known for Texas-inspired cuisine in a chic, rustic setting.

Activities for every guest

One of the things I loved most about this resort is how well it caters to a variety of travelers. During our summer stay, the resort offered an impressive lineup of complimentary activities, including:

• A candy bar pop-up

• Foam parties and scavenger hunts for kids

• Mat Pilates on the lawn

• S’mores at the firepits

• Movies under the stars

Whether you’re traveling with children or just want to unwind, there’s always something to enjoy.

We spent an entire day at the pool, which was a highlight of the trip. The water was the perfect temperature on a 100-degree day, and there were plenty of loungers and towels available. You’ll never feel crowded, even on a summer weekend.

As a resort guest, you also have full access to the Nelson Sports & Fitness Center, which includes a state-of-the-art gym and wellness facilities.

I highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas for:

• Families, especially in the summer when kid-friendly programming is in full swing

• Golfers, with premier access to the resort’s legendary golf course

• Friend groups planning a spa or wine weekend

• Weddings and special events—the setting is elegant and serene
