A stay above it all (literally)

One of the most exciting things about The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon is where it’s located - inside the Mahanakhon Tower. If you’ve ever seen Bangkok’s skyline, you’ve probably noticed this building. It’s pixelated, dramatic and hard to miss. It’s also one of the tallest towers in the city, which means the views from the hotel are nothing short of spectacular. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that this hotel isn’t interested in playing it safe. The design is bold, fun, thoughtful and full of personality without sacrificing comfort or function.

Rooms are bright and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows and seriously impressive skyline views. The interior design leans into retro-modern cool with warm woods, rich colors and curated touches like locally sourced snacks and glassware. Whether you’re in a city-facing studio or a larger suite, the rooms are made to feel like a space you’ll want to hang out in, not just crash in after sightseeing.

Vibrant spaces & sky-high experiences

Throughout the hotel, there’s a strong sense of style and creativity. There are numerous restaurants to choose from, each with its own style and standout menu, making it easy to eat well without ever leaving the hotel. The rooftop bar, Sky Beach, is considered the highest in Thailand, and it’s a standout spot for golden hour drinks or a late-night cocktail with a view. Down on the pool deck, things are a bit more low-key, with a lush design and great city views that make it easy to lose track of time. There’s also a sleek gym with skyline-facing equipment, a tea room, a juice bar and several corners designed for relaxing, reading, or catching up over drinks.

Dining is a huge part of the experience here. Ojo, the modern Mexican restaurant on a high floor, offers standout food with equally standout views. If you’re craving something more classic, The Standard Grill brings in familiar favorites with a refined twist which is great for a slow brunch or relaxed dinner without ever leaving the hotel.

Need to know

What to do nearby:
The hotel’s location in the Silom/Sathorn area means you’re surrounded by a mix of upscale restaurants, local street eats, nightlife and cultural experiences. Even better, it’s directly connected to the Chong Nonsi BTS Skytrain station, which makes getting around Bangkok incredibly easy.

A few highlights in the area:

  • Charoenkrung Road is just a short ride away and has become a hub for Bangkok’s creative scene. You’ll find cool cafés, local art galleries and a growing number of restaurants combining Thai flavors with modern techniques. The street food here is also fantastic, especially if you’re adventurous and love bold flavors.

  • Silom Road is nearby and packed with street vendors offering everything from grilled meats to tropical fruit smoothies. Best of all, it’s just a short walk from the hotel.

  • For something a bit more regional, check out Baan Somtum, a casual local favorite specializing in Isaan cuisine, the spicy, herb-packed food from northeastern Thailand. Known for dishes like som tum (papaya salad), grilled meats and sticky rice, Isaan food is all about bold flavors and balance.

    Need to know:

  • Who it's for: Style-conscious travelers, couples, food lovers and anyone who wants to stay somewhere unique without being far from the action. It’s a great choice for both first-time visitors and Bangkok regulars looking for a different vibe.

  • BTS Access: Chong Nonsi station is connected to the building, making city exploration super convenient.

  • Booking tip: The higher-floor rooms are especially worth it for the views. If you’re celebrating something special, Sky Beach or dinner at Ojo makes for a great night out.
