Disney Wish
Sailing on the Disney Wish was an unforgettable experience that blended all the things I love most about Disney — immersive storytelling, exceptional service and family-friendly fun — with the ease and relaxation of cruising. As a mom traveling with my three-year-old daughter, I was blown away by how thoughtfully Disney has designed every corner of this ship for families. From the moment we stepped aboard and were greeted by name in the Grand Hall (which looks like it was pulled straight from a Disney princess movie), I knew we were in for something special.

Meeting Minnie Mouse on the beach
The ship offers just the right balance of structured activities and open-ended magic. My daughter was mesmerized by the character interactions, themed dining rooms and splash areas designed just for little ones like her. Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure was a huge hit — we’re still singing “Let It Go” at home months later! I also appreciated the ease of the rotational dining system, which allowed us to try all three signature restaurants without extra planning. For parents, the Wish offers the rare opportunity to truly relax while still keeping the kids entertained. With secure, age-appropriate youth clubs (including the adorable "It's a Small World Nursery") and welcoming cast members, we were able to enjoy a quiet coffee in the adults-only Cove Café or sneak in a luxurious meal at Palo while our daughter was happily engaged.

The staterooms were a standout for me — spacious, beautifully themed and ultra-functional for families. The split bathroom design made getting ready with a toddler so much easier, and the bed configurations worked perfectly for a family of three. Every evening felt magical as we returned to our room to find towel animals, chocolates and little Disney touches that made bedtime just as exciting as the daytime adventures.
I recommend the Disney Wish to families with young children who want to experience the magic of Disney without the pace (and planning!) of the parks. It’s also a fantastic option for first-time cruisers. The three- and four-night itineraries are perfect for a long weekend getaway or a pre- or post-park add-on, and the shorter sailings allow families to get a taste of Disney Cruise Line without committing to a full week. Whether you’re traveling with toddlers, school-aged kids or even grandparents, the Wish has something for everyone — and it truly lives up to its name by turning dream vacations into cherished memories.

Need to know
If you're sailing on the Disney Wish with little ones, here are a few helpful tips to make the most of your vacation:
Take advantage of early port arrival and online check-in. Boarding early gives you more time to explore the ship and settle in before the action begins. Try to get one of the earliest Port Arrival Times during online check-in (which opens 30 days before sailing for most guests).
Pack a day bag with swimsuits and essentials. Your luggage might not arrive at your stateroom right away, so have a small carry-on with sunscreen, swimsuits, diapers, wipes and anything else your child might need for those first few hours onboard.
Register kids for the nursery and youth clubs ASAP. The “It’s a Small World Nursery” (for children under 3) has limited space and books up quickly. If your child is newly three, you can also register them for the Oceaneer Club (ages 3–12). Disney's kids' clubs are safe, clean and seriously fun — my daughter loved the themed play spaces and imaginative activities.
Embrace rotational dining and don’t skip the shows. Disney Cruise Line’s dining rotation is designed to make every dinner feel like an event. Each restaurant is unique and entertaining — Arendelle was our family favorite. Also, the Broadway-style shows are amazing, even for little kids. Bring a small blanket or stuffy for your child if they get sleepy during evening performances.
Room service is free — and a total lifesaver. Whether you need a midday snack or a quiet dinner in the room after a long day of fun, don’t hesitate to order. Pro tip: the warm cookies and milk before bedtime were a big hit with our toddler!
Book a stroller-friendly excursion at Castaway Cay. Disney’s private island is incredibly family-friendly. There are plenty of shaded areas, beach wagons for little ones and a splash pad near the family beach. The tram makes getting around with kids easy, and the BBQ lunch is perfect for picky eaters.
Don’t overpack the schedule.
