Frequently asked questions

Who can be a Fora Advisor?

Fora is designed for people who are serious about travel planning and ready to build a business around it. Our community ranges from advisors new to the industry to top advisors running multimillion-dollar businesses.

How do travel advisors make money?

Travel providers pay a commission on advisor bookings, which is split with their host agency. Sometimes advisors also charge a planning fee for customized itineraries or complicated trips.

How and when do I get paid?

Commissions pay out once a client completes their travel and the supplier remits payment to Fora, typically 30–60 days after travel. You can track every booking and expected payout in Fora’s Advisor Portal, and we deposit your earnings directly via ACH.

Do I need an LLC to become a travel advisor?

No—most advisors begin as sole proprietors and receive 1099 income from Fora. If and when your business grows, you might form an LLC for liability and tax reasons. Fora has partners and resources to help you decide what makes sense.

What’s included in a Fora subscription?

Your Fora subscription gives you access to our booking platform and itinerary builder, commission tracking, CRM, training, support, and community, as well as our IATA number and E&O insurance. There are no additional costs or hidden fees.

What kind of support and training do I get?

Fora offers a structured training program that covers everything you need to start booking travel and earning commission. After that, you get access to ongoing business and industry education, community networking, a support team, and booking tools built for how modern advisors work.

How long does it take to start booking travel?

You can start booking travel as soon as you complete Fora’s Essentials training—a focused program you can finish in 3 hours. Advisors new to Fora usually make their first booking within 4 weeks.

How do travel advisors get clients?

Most travel advisors get their first clients from their personal network, including friends, family, coworkers, and acquaintances. These bookings generate testimonials and start the referral cycle. From there, active marketing helps you reach people outside your existing network.

Once you hit $100k in sales in a calendar year and complete a dedicated onboarding, you can join Fora’s Client Leads Program.
