Part-time Fora advisors earn between $10,000 and $50,000 annually, while top earners who work full time make more than $100,000 per year. However, each advisor’s income depends on how much travel they book, their specialty, and how you grow your client base over time. Earnings are commission-based, so you don’t earn a regular salary, but there’s also no set income ceiling or sales quota.
How do Fora advisors earn money?
Fora advisors are independent contractors, not W-2 employees. Their primary income source is commission, the percentage of each booking that the supplier pays and then gets split between the advisor and Fora. When you book a hotel, cruise, tour, or other commissionable experience on your client’s behalf, the supplier pays a percentage of that booking to Fora and Fora pays out your share.
Many travel advisors charge service fees for complex or multi-destination itineraries that require high-touch service, coordination, or on-the-ground support. Planning fees are typically $350 or more per week of travel planned and go entirely to you with no commission split.
Fora’s commission tiers
Fora’s commission split starts at 70% to you and increases as your annual booking volume grows. Fora’s share of commissions goes into improving platform access, training, commission tracking, supplier invoicing, and payment infrastructure for advisors—services that would otherwise require time and cost to independently manage.
How does Fora handle commission payments?
Fora’s Portal automatically tracks every booking you make through the platform. Fora calculates the commission owed on each booking, invoices the supplier, and follows up on outstanding payments. Once a client completes their trip and Fora gets paid by the supplier Fora pays out your commission.
You can track payment dates in Portal, but 30–90 days after travel is common. When comparing Onyx payment data across over 150,000 hotels, we found that Fora collects payments about 25% faster than industry benchmarks, and with one-third fewer commissions left unpaid.
What affects your earnings as a Fora advisor?
Booking volume has the biggest impact on what you earn, whether that’s higher-value trips or a higher number of bookings—or both. Fora’s 5,000+ preferred partner relationships also give you access to higher base commission rates than you could negotiate independently.
Advisors who specialize in luxury travel or group bookings tend to earn more per booking than generalists.
How much do Fora advisors earn each year?
Earnings vary widely depending on how much time a travel advisor invests and what they specialize in. Fora Advisors average 12% base commission per booking. Top Fora advisors book more than $10 million in travel annually. At a 12% average commission and a 90/10 split, that translates to more than $1.2 million in gross commission with $1.08 million going to the advisor. Among Centum honorees—the top 100 advisors at Fora—advisors collectively sold more than $200 million of travel in 2025.
“You can make real money, but you have to work at it,” Fora X Advisor Stu Dressler says. “And volume matters.”
Note: The examples above use Fora’s average commission of 12%. Actual commission rates vary by booking type and supplier, ranging from 7–30%.

In addition to commission tiers, Fora advisors achieve certification levels as they reach annual booking thresholds in addition to completing training and business milestones. Higher tiers come with benefits that can help you grow your business and earnings.

Advanced: $40,000 in calendar year bookings, cleared Advanced training, met client and supplier thresholds
Pro: $100,000 in calendar year bookings, met additional client thresholds
Fora X: $500,000 in calendar year bookings, met client, partner, and community thresholds
All advisors have access to Fora’s platform, partnerships, training, and community from the start. Once you receive Pro certification, you can access flight booking and Fora’s Client Lead Program, and become eligible for familiarization trips and travel agent rates. Advisors who reach Fora X status represent the platform’s highest volume sellers. Fora X advisors receive additional benefits, including Fora X-only retreats and conference invitations.
“It took off very quickly,” says Fora X advisor and Centum honoree Megan Smith, who originally planned to scale as she adjusted to having her children in school. “But I was in control of my destiny.”
Frequently asked questions
Are Fora advisors employees or independent contractors?

Fora advisors are independent contractors, not W-2 employees. Unlike traditional agencies that employ full-time agents, Fora advisors run their own businesses using Fora’s platform and infrastructure. As such, there is no guaranteed base salary, but also no sales quotas, fixed hours, or limit on what you can earn.
When do Fora advisors get paid?

Advisors receive commission payments after a client completes their trip and the supplier pays out to Fora, typically within 30–90 days. Fora handles all invoicing and payment follow-up on your behalf. In some cases, like cruise bookings, suppliers pay commission once clients complete final payment. Most advisors collect planning fees directly from clients at the time of booking or before travel begins.
What is Fora X?

Fora X is an exclusive tier designed for top-performing Fora Advisors who book $500,000 or more in travel within a calendar year. Advisors achieve Fora X through booking volume and separate business milestones, and enjoy additional Fora benefits.
What is Centum?

Centum is an honorary designation for the 100 advisors with the most sales in the previous year. Each year, Fora recognizes a fresh group of advisors. All Centum honorees are Fora X advisors.
Can I earn money as a part-time Fora advisor?

Yes. Part-time Fora advisors earn between $10,000 and $50,000 annually on average. However, some part-time advisors sell six- or seven-figures of travel each year in addition to their day jobs. Fora doesn’t have minimum sales requirements to remain on the platform.
