From selling products to creating memories

Lynette Briones didn't set out to become a travel advisor. After years climbing the corporate ladder in marketing and e-commerce—including at top-tier brands like Lacoste, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Furla—she was ready for something new.

“Life's too short. I want to do something that makes me happy,” she said.

Lynette stumbled upon Fora online and signed up. It turned out to be the perfect fit, and far more rewarding.

“I've spent 24 years selling things to people,” she said. “I don't want to be part of this cycle of stuff. I want people to use their money on experiences and memories.”

The transition felt natural for someone whose "love language" was planning. Now, Lynette said, “I feel so free.”

Gaining access and credibility with Fora Pro

Lynette got her first clients purely by word of mouth and referrals. Thanks to her own connections and Fora’s extensive training, within eight months, she generated enough business to qualify for Fora Pro, a tier reserved for advisors who book $100K or more per year. Lynette described reaching Pro status as a “gold-star moment.”

“The biggest difference has been access—both in terms of the level of support and the quality of opportunities,” she said. “I’ve noticed faster response times internally, more visibility, and more meaningful connections across the industry.”

Lynette attended networking events and trips to learn about destinations first hand.

Fora Pro Advisors get more access to training, familiarity trips (FAMs), and industry events to develop relationships with suppliers, which all help enhance the client experience.

As a Pro advisor, Lynette became eligible to attend special networking events, apply for FAM trips to learn about new destinations firsthand, and participate in Fora’s Client Lead Program. With this increased access, she said, it’s been easier to connect with hotel representatives and destination management companies (DMCs)—relationships that prove helpful when planning client trips.

“Within the industry, reaching Pro has added credibility,” she said. “It has helped strengthen relationships with suppliers and fellow advisors, which ultimately allows me to deliver a higher level of service. While clients may not know the specifics of my status, they benefit from the increased access, efficiency, and insight it brings.”

Tapping into an engaged Pro community

Once she achieved Pro status, Lynette also gained access to WhatsApp groups and message boards with fellow Pros, making it even easier to connect with and learn from established agents.

“Reaching Pro helped me tap into a more engaged peer network,” she said. “That sense of community has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.”

Lynette became part of what she calls the Advisor Exchange—a group of seven advisors who met on Forum, Fora’s community app. Every other week, the group meets via Google Meet to share best practices, talk through challenges, and support each other. The group has become Lynette’s “go-to resource for ideas, accountability, and advice.”

Reaching Pro helped me tap into a more engaged peer network. That sense of community has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.

Peer connections like these, in addition to advisor-hosted training sessions, have accelerated Lynette’s travel advisor education.

“Being in closer contact with other experienced advisors has been one of the most valuable parts,” she said. “I’ve learned a lot just by hearing how others approach challenges or structure their businesses.”

Creating efficient workflows with Fora's technology

Lynette's marketing background gave her an appreciation for sophisticated technology—and Fora's platform exceeded her expectations.

“The tech is amazing,” she said. “You guys put things on your road map before I even think of suggesting it."

The platform's AI capabilities particularly transformed her workflow. She uses it strategically for logistics and research. This technological efficiency freed her to focus on high-value activities and leveraging her knowledge as a travel advisor.

“Fora has made me more comfortable utilizing AI and different assets to get my job done,” she said. “For the logistical black and white—What are the hours of this? What's the train time from Naples?—that saves me so much time.”
