Advisor - The Art of the Amalfi Coast: A 4-Day Journey
Curator’s statement

My first visit to the Amalfi Coast had been years in the making. After hearing so much about its beauty, I couldn't wait to discover what made it one of the world's most beloved destinations. My journey began in Ravello, and from the moment I arrived at the Belmond Caruso, I understood the magic. Perched high above the coastline, it felt like stepping into another world, where every view, every quiet moment, and every detail made life feel beautifully unhurried.

Things to do on the Amalfi Coast

The view that made the drive worth it

Wander through Piazza Duomo in Ravello

One of my favorite things to do was walk from the Belmond Caruso into Piazza Duomo, the heart of Ravello. I loved starting the morning with an espresso at Duomo Caffè, watching the town come alive, browsing the artisan boutiques, and wandering the charming streets without an agenda.

Have lunch in Minori

Instead of spending all of your time in the larger towns, head to Minori for a slower, more authentic experience. We enjoyed a long lunch overlooking the sea and loved watching the locals go about their day in this peaceful village.

Indulge at Sal De Riso

No trip to Minori is complete without stopping at Sal De Riso. From the famous Amalfi lemon delights to the incredible ricotta and pear cake, every dessert is worth saving room for.

Spend the day at Le Sirenuse Mare Beach Club

The drive was longer than expected, but it quickly became one of my favorite days on the Amalfi Coast. Meeting the owner and hearing how his family brought this beautiful new beach club to life made the experience feel incredibly personal.

Stop in Positano on the way back

After the beach club, we spent the afternoon wandering Positano's winding streets, browsing linen boutiques and handmade sandal shops, and stopping for a refreshing lemon granita. The iconic views were every bit as beautiful as I'd imagined.

Walk from Ravello to Atrani

The walk down to Atrani was one of the most rewarding experiences of our trip. The breathtaking coastal views made every step worthwhile, and I was especially grateful we were walking downhill after passing so many people making the challenging climb up.

Explore the Ripley filming locations

As huge fans of Netflix's "Ripley", we loved wandering Atrani and recognizing many of the locations featured throughout the series. Seeing the village through a different lens made us appreciate its beauty even more.

Slow down and enjoy the journey

One of my biggest takeaways from the Amalfi Coast was not to rush from one destination to the next. Some of our favorite memories came from stopping to admire the coastline, lingering over a coffee, and embracing the slower pace that makes this part of Italy so unforgettable.

Places to eat & drink on the Amalfi Coast

A poem in every course

Il Pantaleone at Belmond Caruso (Ravello)

Our tasting menu at Il Pantaleone was a dining experience we'll never forget. Set on a breathtaking terrace overlooking the Amalfi Coast, every course celebrated the flavors of Campania with creativity, precision, and impeccable service. It was one of those rare meals where the setting, the cuisine, and the atmosphere came together to create pure magic.

Caffè Calce (Ravello)

One of my favorite spots in Piazza Duomo for an espresso or aperitivo while watching life unfold in Ravello. It's the perfect place to slow down and soak in the charm of the town.

Duomo Caffè (Ravello)

Located in the heart of Piazza Duomo, this is a wonderful place for a morning cappuccino, a light lunch, or an afternoon spritz while taking in the energy of Ravello's main square.

Giardiniello (Minori)

One of my favorite lunches on the Amalfi Coast. Just steps from the beach, the fresh seafood, homemade pasta, and relaxed atmosphere made us wish we had planned to stay longer.

Sal De Riso (Minori)

No trip to Minori is complete without stopping at Sal De Riso. Famous for its Amalfi lemon desserts and signature ricotta and pear cake, it's one of the Amalfi Coast's most iconic pastry shops.

Palazzo Avino (Ravello)

Whether you're stopping for lunch, cocktails, or dinner, Palazzo Avino offers one of the most spectacular dining settings in Ravello. The sweeping views, refined cuisine, and elegant atmosphere make it an unforgettable place to linger over a meal.

Le Sirenuse Mare Beach Club

Lunch at the beach club was one of the highlights of our trip. Fresh seafood, crisp Italian wine, and the sound of the waves created the kind of afternoon that perfectly captures the magic of the Amalfi Coast.

Need to know

The Amalfi Coast is every bit as magical as you've imagined, but a little planning goes a long way. Reserve your restaurants, beach clubs, private drivers, and any special experiences as early as possible, especially if you're traveling between May and September.

Whenever you have the option, choose to travel by boat. Not only will you avoid the heavy traffic, but you'll also experience some of the most breathtaking views of the coastline from the water.

If you hire a private driver, take the time to get to know them. Our driver shared hidden viewpoints, local restaurants, and insider recommendations that made our trip so much more memorable than anything we found online.

Bring comfortable shoes because you'll be climbing more stairs than you expect. The walks can be challenging, but they lead to incredible views, hidden corners, and some of the most memorable moments of the trip.

Finally, don't feel like you have to spend all of your time in the most famous towns. Some of our favorite memories were made in quieter places like Minori and Atrani, where we found a slower pace, fewer crowds, and a more authentic side of the Amalfi Coast.
