Where to stay

Day 1: Arrive and head straight for the water

A wooden dock in the water next to large rocks

Once you arrive and make your way into the city of Willemstead, head over to a waterfront breakfast at Bijblaw. If you want to cool off, enjoy a seat along the rocks with the salt air and sea breeze. After breakfast, make your way to Mamboo Beach. You'll find plenty of places to eat and drink with your toes in the sand. I recommend walking around to experience all the shops and restaurants. For dinner, head to the historic old Fort Nassau for an unbelievable sunset and amazing menu.

Day 2: Walk the city

The image presents a vibrant street scene with colorful buildings and a bustling atmosphere under a sunny sky.

Waking up to the sun and sunrise, enjoy a cup of coffee on your balcony. After you get yourself ready, today will involve walking the city. I recommend stopping at the Iguana Cafe for breakfast and a frozen coffee to cool off. You'll be able to immerse yourself in the colorful sites of the city, walk the Queen Emma Bridge, explore the Fort Riff shopping center and visit the floating market for fresh fruit. After all that walking, it's time for some relaxation, so head over to Jan Thiel Beach for a relaxing environment and soft sand.

Day 3: Adventure on the water

A red, white, and green boat on a rocky beach next to the water during the daytime

Today is for some adventure on the water. Take a boat trip to Klein, a small island off the coast of the main island. You can travel via ferry or on a full-day catamaran tour. I recommend the catamaran as they provide food and beverages for the trip, and you're on vacation! Once you come back to the main island I recommend heading back to Mamboo beach for dinner and an espresso martini at Cabana Beach.

Day 4: Beach hopping

A stone wall overlooking the town during a sunset

It's time for a full day of sun, sand, and sea. Take a beach hopping excursion tour, or if you're feeling adventurous rent a car and go at your own pace (I highly recommend this option!). Check out the beaches on the West End, as the locals call it. You'll make your way to Playa Pisaka where you can snorkel with sea turtles in their natural habitat. Soak up some sun at Cas Abao where the water is bright blue and as clear as glass. Enjoy a drink at Playa PortoMari where you may come across two little piggies who like to soak up some sun as well.

Day 5: Enjoy the last bits of sunshine

The image captures a solitary figure walking on a vibrantly lit pier at night.

Before heading off the island to return home, enjoy the last bits of sunshine at your hotel beach. Grab lunch at De Heeren @ Sea for your last taste of fresh seafood and sandwiches before leaving this beautiful island.
