Curator’s statement
Walt Disney World is widely considered the gold standard for gluten-free travel. For a Celiac family, the “ultimate” experience focuses on the highest-rated spots where cross-contact protocols are strict and the food is indistinguishable from its gluten-containing counterparts.

Things to do at Walt Disney World

Animal Kingdom giraffe
My top eight Disney Celiac favorites.
The Nomad Lounge "churros & chill"
What it is: A hidden-gem lounge in Animal Kingdom with waterfront views and a globally-inspired menu.
The Celiac Why: They have a dedicated gluten-free fryer specifically for their churros. For a Celiac, eating a warm, crunchy churro that is 100% safe is a core memory. It’s the ultimate "safe luxury" break.
The Erin McKenna’s "bakery haul"
What it is: A 100% gluten-free, vegan, and soy-free bakery in Disney Springs.
The Celiac Why: Total mental freedom. You can walk in and point at anything in the glass (donuts, eclairs, or cookie sandwiches) and know it’s safe. It’s the one place where “cross-contact” doesn’t exist.
EPCOT "Skyliner dining" at Topolino’s Terrace
What it is: A rooftop character breakfast at the Riviera Resort accessible by the Skyliner.
The Celiac Why: They are famous for their dedicated Mickey Waffle irons. The chef will personally discuss your meal, and the high-end service ensures your “allergy-friendly” plate is handled with white-glove care while you enjoy the best views in Disney.
The Sanaa "Bread Service" safari
What it is: A restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge where you dine while watching giraffes on the savanna.
The Celiac Why: They’ve perfected a gluten-free naan that is soft and pillowy. Dipping safe bread into their nine signature sauces while animals roam outside is an experience you can’t get anywhere else in the world.
Skipper Canteen’s "safe adventure"
What it is: A jungle cruise-themed restaurant in Magic Kingdom with a "Secret Society" vibe.
The Celiac Why: Nearly 90% of the menu is naturally GF or easily modified. Their fried chicken is prepared in a dedicated GF fryer, giving you that crispy, savory comfort food that is usually off-limits.
The "Dole Whip" sunset walk
What it is: The iconic pineapple soft-serve treat found in Adventureland.
The Celiac Why: It is naturally gluten-free and dairy-free. Grabbing a Dole Whip and walking through a quiet Magic Kingdom at sunset is the simplest, most reliable, high-octane joy for any GF traveler.
Regal Eagle "pitmaster" BBQ
What it is: A massive BBQ smokehouse in the American Adventure Pavilion at EPCOT.
The Celiac Why: They have one of the best allergy-friendly Mobile Order systems. You can get a huge platter of smoked meats and even GF garlic toast, making you feel like part of the BBQ crowd without the fear of hidden flour in the sauces.
The Boathouse "waterfront celebration"
What it is: An upscale nautical restaurant in Disney Springs with Amphicars driving into the lake.
The Celiac Why: They offer high-quality gluten-free buns that actually hold together. Eating a fresh lobster roll or a premium burger on the water with a strictly enforced “Allergy Alert” protocol is the perfect way to end a trip.
Places to eat & drink at Walt Disney World

EPCOT Disney
Magic Kingdom & character magic
Starting in the most iconic park with a focus on immersive dining.
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen: This is a fan favorite for Celiac diners because nearly the entire menu is naturally gluten-free or can be easily modified.
Signature dish: The "Falls Family Falafel" and "curried vegetable stew" are high-quality options that avoid the standard “burger without a bun” fatigue. The Brazilian Cheese Bread (Pão de Queijo) is naturally gluten-free and a must-order.
Gluten-free churros: Head to Nomad Lounge if you miss them here, but keep an eye out for the allergy-friendly chicken tenders at most Quick Service locations. They are arguably better than the standard ones!
EPCOT: A world of gluten-free flavors
EPCOT is a culinary playground, and for a Celiac family, it offers the most variety.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue: Located in the American Adventure Pavilion, this is the best Quick Service for families. They offer a dedicated allergy menu where almost all the meats and many sides (like the garlic toast!) can be prepared gluten-free. Mobile ordering through the My Disney Experience app allows you to filter specifically for “Gluten/Wheat Allergy Friendly.”
Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera: Take the Skyliner from EPCOT to the Riviera Resort for a character breakfast. They are famous for their gluten-free waffles and "Mickey" waffles made in a dedicated iron. The chefs here are highly trained and will often come to the table to discuss your specific needs.
Animal Kingdom: The Celiac secret spots
Animal Kingdom contains what many consider the single best gluten-free lounge and restaurant on property.
Nomad Lounge: This is the best for Celiac travelers. They serve gluten-free churros made in a dedicated fryer that are legendary in the GF community. The atmosphere is relaxed and cool, perfect for escaping the Florida humidity.
Sanaa: Located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (a short bus/car ride from the park). The famous Indian-style Bread Service can be made entirely gluten-free with specialized naan bread. Dining here allows you to watch giraffes and zebras on the savanna while you eat.
Disney Springs shopping & treats
Before heading home, spend an evening at Disney Springs for the most concentrated Celiac-safe options.
Erin McKenna's Bakery: A 100% gluten-free, vegan, and soy-free bakery. This is the only place where a Celiac family can walk in and order anything in the case without fear. Stock up on donuts, cupcakes, and cookies for the flight/drive home.
The Boathouse: An upscale waterfront spot with excellent allergy protocols. They offer gluten-free buns for their burgers and sandwiches that are highly rated for texture. The fries are often done in a dedicated fryer, but always confirm with the server as kitchen setups can change.

Pro tips
Safety first: Always ask to speak with a Chef or a Special Diets Lead.
App tip: Use “Mobile Order” to filter by “Gluten/Wheat Allergy”.
Snack secret: Dole Whip (most flavors) is naturally gluten-free!
This itinerary balances the best “dedicated” food (Erin McKenna's, Nomad Lounge churros) with high-end dining, where you won’t feel like you are missing out.
By staying at the BoardWalk, you maximize your time and minimize the stress of navigating the parks.
