Things to do in Lisbon

  • Tuk Tuk tour — Taking an auto rickshaw can be a real treat, especially to the viewpoints of Senhora do Monte and Portas do Sol. If you prefer a sustainable option, you can opt for a company like the Eco Tuk Tuk.

  • Belem Tower — As a UNESCO Heritage monument, a visit to the tower is not to be missed. You can purchase tickets on their website.

  • Jeronimos Monastery — Another UNESCO Heritage site you can visit in Lisbon and an architectural masterpiece. You can purchase tickets on their website.

  • Sao Jorge Castle — Visit the castle for the panoramic view of Lisbon and the seven hills as well as the castle, garden, black chamber and permanent exhibition. Spend approximately two hours for a thorough tour.

  • Pasteis de Belem — Yes, this is the original place for the famous egg custard tarts. The lines can get quite long, so expect some wait time before you head over.

  • A Ginjinha — A must-experience to taste the traditional Portuguese drink.

Day trips:

  • Sintra - A fairy-tale town just a short train away from Lisbon. Important note to purchase date/time slotted reservations to visit Pena Palace.

  • Cascais - Soak up the sun and have a relaxing day at the Rainha beach club. You can rent a sun lounge for the day (40 euros).
