Curator’s statement
Savannah is a city full of character and warmth that feels both welcoming and timeless. What makes it special to me is how effortlessly it combines history, culture, and vibrant local life into one unforgettable experience. The peaceful moments by the pool at Hotel Bardo perfectly balance the excitement of exploring the city’s best food, shops, and sights. For me, Savannah is a place to reconnect, recharge, and create lasting memories.

Day 1: Arrive & settle in at Hotel Bardo

Check in and get settled, then head straight to the pool if you have time before dinner. It’s honestly the highlight of staying at Bardo—an oasis right in the heart of the city. Order a cocktail, unwind, and soak it all in.
Dinner at The Grey
This is a must. The food is phenomenal, and the restaurant is a restored Greyhound bus station.
Be sure to watch Chef’s Table on Netflix—Chef Mashama Bailey is featured, and her story makes the experience extra great.
Day 2: Shopping & sweets

Forsyth Park
Morning: Forsyth Farmers’ Market & boutique shopping
Start your morning at Forsyth Farmers’ Market (9 am–1 pm). Grab coffee and fresh finds, and be sure to snag a peach from the stand where Justin Bieber got his peaches—yes, that peach stand.
Then head to the boutiques on Whitaker and Broughton. Don’t miss Paris Market, ShopSCAD, and Custard Boutique.
Lunch at Savannah Seafood Shack
Super casual and the seafood is amazing. Try the lowcountry boil or fried shrimp po’ boy.
Afternoon: Ice cream & River Street sweets
Cool off with a scoop at Leopold’s Ice Cream. Be sure to try the Tutti Frutti, their original 1919 recipe bursting with fruity flavors, or the Savannah Socialite, a crowd favorite with pecans and pralines mixed in.
Then take a stroll along River Street and pop into Savannah’s Candy Kitchen for pralines and nostalgic treats.
Late afternoon: Pool time at Bardo
Head back to the hotel for some downtime at the Bardo pool—this is your chance to relax and enjoy the setting. Lounge, swim, sip something cold... you’ll see why this is such a beloved part of the hotel.
Dinner at Saint Bibiana (at Bardo)
No need to go far—Saint Bibiana, Bardo’s Italian restaurant, is one of the hottest tables in town. Think handmade pastas, perfect wine pairings, and gorgeous ambiance.
Day 3: Sleep in & brunch

Bonaventure Cemetery
Wrap up the weekend with brunch at Collins Quarter or The Emporium before checking out.
If you have a later flight…
Take a final stroll through Wormsloe Historic Site with its stunning live oak-lined entrance (very photo-worthy), or walk around Bonaventure Cemetery, one of the most famous and atmospheric in the South. Both are peaceful, beautiful, and not far from the city center.
Or, simply post up at the Bardo pool for one last dip and a leisurely lunch before heading out.
Need to know
Sometimes in Savannah, you might catch a faint smell of gas or something industrial. That’s because the city sits right next to a busy port and some working industrial areas along the river. It’s a little unexpected given all the historic charm and oak trees, but it’s just part of the city’s real working character, a blend of history and modern life.
