Advisor - Family Guide to Beaver Creek, Colorado
Curator’s statement

The Avon and Beaver Creek area is an excellent year-round family destination. It is convenient without sacrificing luxury. I’ve been visiting this area now for over 20 years, including my bachelorette trip and now for family vacations as a parent.

Things to do in Beaver Creek

Catching a show with a friend in the village

  • Get active! Take a hike, go horseback riding, golf, bike, fish, or book the kids in swim lessons or ski school.

  • See a concert or performance. The Vail Valley hosts an incredible year-round lineup of talented acts.

  • Recover at the spa! From heated saltwater pools to a range of services and amenities, you can relax and unwind.

  • Book a family photography session to capture the memories of mountain magic.

  • Utilize local shuttles to hop to Vail Village and back for more shopping and dining.

  • Take the kids ice skating or rafting.

  • Eat a chocolate chip cookie! Beaver Creek’s famous "Cookie Time" is a daily winter tradition where fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies are handed out for free by chefs at 3 pm. In the summer, grab an ice cream cone.

Places to eat & drink in Beaver Creek

My kid was in heaven at Northside Kitchen.

  • Après at The Ritz at Wyld Bar, The Great Room, or Fireside for drinks and light bites.

  • NorthSide Kitchen in Avon has incredible pastries and an excellent kids' menu.

  • Fattoria for Italian. They don't have a kids' menu, but they will customize pasta and pizza. The steak is perfect.

  • Lily Sushi and Ramen is loved by locals and tourists.

  • Splendido at the Chateau for kid-friendly fine dining. They often have live music.

Need to know

For added convenience, you can fly into Eagle County and avoid renting a car and the two- to three-hour (scenic) drive from Denver.
