Advisor - Sun, Style & Spritzes: The Ultimate Escape to Capri
Curator’s statement

Capri is a place that feels almost dreamlike, it's where dramatic cliffs plunge into turquoise seas, and every corner is steeped in effortless elegance. It’s a destination that invites you to slow down and savor life, whether you’re sipping a spritz in the Piazzetta or watching the sun set behind the Faraglioni rocks. The island’s blend of natural beauty, history and timeless glamor makes it unforgettable. For me, it’s the kind of place that lingers in your memory long after you’ve left.

Things to do in Capri

  • Visit the Blue Grotto : A must-see natural wonder where sunlight filters through an underwater cave, illuminating the water in an otherworldly electric blue. Go early or late in the day to avoid crowds, or visit by private boat for a more peaceful experience. Be prepared for it to be closed often due to the rough seas.

  • Ride the chairlift to Monte Solaro: From Anacapri, hop on the single-seat chairlift to the highest point on the island. The views are breathtaking, and the ride itself is peaceful and scenic.

  • Swim at Marina Piccola: For a beach day, head to Marina Piccola on the island’s southern coast. It’s a small but stunning bay where locals and visitors sunbathe and swim in the crystal-clear water with views of the Faraglioni.

Places to eat & drink in Capri

This fish market by day turns into a cozy and creative seafood eatery by night. Think ultra-fresh crudo, seared tuna and an ever-changing chalkboard menu.

  • La Fontelina: A dreamy seaside restaurant and beach club facing the Faraglioni rocks. Come for lunch after sunbathing and order their signature white sangria and fresh catch of the day. Simple, elegant and very Capri.

  • Ristorante Da Giorgio: Casual and family-run, this is a favorite for locals and in-the-know visitors alike. Expect generous portions of pasta, seafood and stunning terrace views, without the price tag of more famous spots.

  • Le Camerelle at Hotel La Palma: Perfect for an aperitivo or stylish lunch, this new addition from the Oetker Collection offers fresh, modern cuisine in a sophisticated setting right in the heart of town.

  • Pulalli Wine Bar: Overlooking the Piazzetta, this hidden gem is ideal for wine lovers and light bites. Grab a table on the tiny balcony and soak in the view with a glass of local falanghina.

  • Pescheria Le Botteghe: This fish market by day turns into a cozy and creative seafood eatery by night. Think ultra-fresh crudo, seared tuna and an ever-changing chalkboard menu. It's a tiny place but worth it. We loved it!

  • Al Capri: A casual spot for wood-fired pizza, grilled seafood and pasta tucked away in Capri Town. Great for an unfussy, satisfying meal that hits all the right flavors.

  • Buonocore Gelateria: Finish any meal or take a mid-day break with a cone of the island’s best gelato. You’ll smell the homemade waffle cones before you even see the line. And it's worth the wait!

Need to know

Very Important * Travel Logistics:

  • Getting there: Capri is accessible only by boat or ferry, typically from Naples, Sorrento, Positano or Amalfi. Ferries arrive at Marina Grande, the island’s main port.

  • Luggage tip: Pack light! Capri’s narrow, cobblestone streets often require a bit of walking, and many hotels don’t allow cars to drop off directly at the door. Porters are available at the marina.

Local Transportation:

  • Capri is mostly car-free, especially in Capri Town and Anacapri. You’ll get around by funicular, taxis (which are convertible and fun!), or on foot.

  • For reaching more remote spots, like beach clubs, boat service is often the easiest way.
