Day 1: Oslo to Lillehammer (2-hour drive)

Your journey begins in Oslo, heading north toward Lillehammer, famous for its winter sports heritage (1994 Winter Olympics) and charming town center.

Stop at Hadeland Glassverk (1 hour from Oslo): A historic glass factory where you can watch live glassblowing and browse unique Norwegian glassware.

Explore Lillehammer: Stroll along Storgata, the main street lined with traditional wooden buildings, shops and cafes. Visit the Maihaugen Open-Air Museum for a deep dive into Norwegian culture and history.

Eat: Grab dinner at Bryggerikjelleren, known for its Scandinavian-inspired dishes.

Day 2: Lillehammer to Geiranger (4.5-hour drive)

Today, you’ll begin to see Norway’s breathtaking landscapes unfold with fjords, mountains and lakes.

Drive Trollstigen Road: A winding mountain pass with epic viewpoints along the way, setting the tone for the scenery to come.

Explore Geirangerfjord: Stop at the famous Flydalsjuvet and Ørnesvingen (Eagle’s Road) viewpoints for stunning panoramas. If time allows, take a boat tour to see the fjords waterfalls up close, including the Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil.

Eat: Dine at Brasserie Posten in Geiranger, where local ingredients meet fjord views.

Day 3: Geiranger to Ålesund (2.5-hour drive)

Ålesund, with its gorgeous Art Nouveau architecture, is a coastal gem worth exploring.

Stroll through Ålesund: Admire the colorful Art Nouveau buildings and quaint streets.

Hike to Aksla Viewpoint: This easy/moderate hike with 418 steps (and handrails) offers breathtaking views over Ålesund and its surrounding islands. Alternatively, drive or take the City Train to the top.

Visit Atlantic Sea Park: One of Northern Europe’s largest saltwater aquariums, showcasing Norway’s marine life through interactive exhibits and outdoor pools.

Day 4: Ålesund to Loen (2.5-hour drive)

Today, enjoy lakes, mountains and an incredible fjord view in Loen.

Loen Skylift: Take the cable car up Mount Hoven for an unforgettable view of the fjord. Once at the top, enjoy scenic hiking trails suitable for all levels.

Eat: Lunch at Hoven Restaurant at the summit for a meal with a view.

Visit Lodalen Valley: A hidden gem with vibrant green lakes and waterfalls, perfect for a serene stop.

Day 5: Loen to Sogndal via Briksdal Glacier (2.5-hour drive)

The drive toward Sogndal passes through breathtaking fjords, valleys and charming small towns.

Hike to Briksdal Glacier: This beautiful glacier is an arm of the Jostedalsbreen Ice Cap, offering a scenic and accessible hiking experience.

Sogndal: This cozy town, surrounded by mountains and Sognefjord, is an ideal spot to enjoy Norway’s natural beauty with fewer tourists.

Day 6: Sogndal to Flåm via Aurlandsfjellet Scenic Route (1.5-hour drive)

Aurlandsfjellet, known as the “Snow Road,” offers some of Norway’s most stunning mountain vistas.

Stop at Stegastein Viewpoint: An architectural marvel, this viewpoint offers breathtaking views of Aurlandsfjord from 2,000 feet/650 meters above.

Arrive in Flåm: Explore this quaint fjord-side village. Consider a scenic fjord cruise or hop on the famous Flåm Railway for one of the world’s most beautiful train rides. It’s worth it!

Eat: Try Ægir BrewPub for Viking-inspired decor and locally brewed beers.

Day 7: Flåm to Bergen (2.5-hour drive)

The final stretch to Bergen takes you through stunning fjord scenery, including Gudvangen and Nærøyfjord.

Stop at Voss: Known for its outdoor activities and scenic lake, Voss is a great place for a quick break.

Arrive in Bergen: Settle in downtown to easily explore the Bryggen Wharf (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) with its colorful, iconic buildings. Visit the Arven silversmith workshop (since 1868), where you can watch skilled artisans at work. You can also take a ride on the Floibanen funicular for a panoramic view of Bergen and access to local hiking trails.
