Curator’s statement
Lake Como just oozes romance. The setting is dramatic—mountains straight into the water, gorgeous grand villas, those painfully chic wooden boats. It’s elegant in a very relaxed, Italian way. The pace is part of what makes it so perfect for a honeymoon: slow mornings, boat days, long lunches that turn into aperitivo, and then getting a little dressed up for dinner at night. I love to suggest splitting time between two areas of the lake so you get to experience different vibes. It’s one of those places that just feels special while you’re there—and even more special when you look back on it later.

Things to do in Lake Como

Private boat day exploring the lake: A must-do! If you stay at Il Sereno, you can drive your own.
Visiting the grand villas: Balbianello is iconic especially for Star Wars fans; Villa Carlotta is equally impressive with stunning botanical gardens or the lesser-known Villa del Balbiano, which isn't open to the public, but I can help with that, too.
Visit Como Town: You can take the funicular up to Brunate, browse the local silk shops, or even catch an easy football (soccer) game.
Private picnic on a hidden shoreline: I can help set this up and it can be a surprise!
Explore Bellaggio: This lively town is perfect for wandering, getting a gelato, and people-watching.
Pool day! Enjoy your hotel, lay by the pool, swim in the lake, book a massage, or just enjoy the lake views.
Places to eat & drink in Lake Como

Sereno al Lago at Il Sereno: Michelin-starred experience in a relaxed modern setting.
Bar Canova at Villa D'Este: A more casual option for lunch or aperitivo lakeside.
Il Gatto Nero: George Clooney's favorite spot.
Feel Como: Wildly creative modern cuisine in Como Town.
Da Giacamo al Lago: Lakeside yumminess in front of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo.
Need to know
Avoid the roads at all costs, as roads are narrow and there is always traffic; travel by boat whenever possible.
Lake view rooms only! This is where the splurge is 100 percent worth it.
People tend to dress for dinner here, so bring some nicer things for the evenings.
Dinner reservations should be made as soon as we book your hotel, especially in high season.
