Curator’s statement
Nice is known as the capital of the French Riviera for a good reason, and the location plays a big part. From the airport, you can be in the city center in a mere 10 minutes by car (or 15 minutes by bus). One can easily visit various towns of the French Riviera, such as Monaco, Cannes, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and Antibes via train or car in a short time. Not to mention the famous attractions in the area, such as the azure-colored coast, Promenade des Anglais, Old town, Colline du Château, Museum of Fine Arts in Nice, Marc Chagall National Museum, to name a few. Nice is a city worth the travel for either a relaxed vacation or a fully active one. In either case, the smell of jasmine will stay in your memories.

Things to do in Nice

Take a walk down the Promenade des Anglais and marvel at the azure-colored coast. Enjoy sunbathing on the beach — if you’re staying more inland, rent a sunbed at a beach club (i.e. Le Negresso beach club).
Visit the Farmer’s market, stroll in the old town and walk up or take the elevator to Colline du Chateau. A boat ride to Villefranche-sur-Mer is a big plus.
For a bit of cultural experience, visit the Marc Chagall National Museum and Museum of Fine Arts in Nice.
If you are looking for a serene scene, walk the beautiful coastal path in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat to the Paloma beach. Or you can also rent a yacht, which provides a tender boat service to the beach. Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is also worth a visit if just for the gardens alone.
Hopefully your schedule allows you to visit the charming village of Eze, while the hike up or down Nietzche's path may not be for everyone.
Day trips:
Cannes: Spend a few hours on foot to visit the Palais des Festivals, which hosts the world-famous Cannes Film Festival. Walk the boulevard La Croisette for the view and people-watching.
