Curator’s statement
The Amalfi Coast is my favorite destination, and I enjoy sharing it with my clients. However, being a tourist hotspot, it’s important to know the best places to go to avoid the tourist traps. Here are some of my favorites throughout the region, with a mixture of fine dining and local favorites.

Places to eat & drink in the Amalfi Coast

Villa Maria (Ravello): Perched high above the Amalfi Coast, Villa Maria gives a beautiful view of the area, and is the perfect spot for lunch during a day trip.
La Scalinatella (Positano): With a new chef for 2024, this has become a hidden gem in Positano (but I won’t gatekeep it!). Beyond the tourist traps, this is true fine dining with one of the best views.
Donna Emma La Cucina (Amalfi): Based in Miramalfi, this restaurant offers a tasting menu at the heart of the Amalfi Coast.
Zass (Positano): With a Michelin star, this is one of the most exceptional restaurants in the area, and a true favorite of mine. Based within the famous Hotel Il San Pietro, make sure you arrive early for an aperitivo on the terrace with views of Positano.
Ristorante Belvedere (Ravello): The restaurant within the Belmond Caruso hotel, this is a favorite of mine for breakfast with a view. Exceptional service, this is a must-visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner when visiting Ravello.
L’Agave (Capri): Located just off the walk to the Punta Tragara Hotel, where you can view the Fariglioni Rocks, this is a brilliant spot for lunch with a beautiful view. The best Caprese salad I’ve ever had!
Trattoria Castel Nuovo (Naples): Based just outside the Naples Port. This is the perfect first meal when arriving in the area if you are moving straight onto one of the other towns/islands by ferry. On top of this, the prices are extremely reasonable compared to the rest of the Amalfi Coast.
