Curator’s statement
Milos is the perfect Greek island for anyone looking for charming villages, diverse and stunning beaches, and amazing hospitality. Enjoy views of the Aegean Sea from volcano rock formations at Sarakiniko, hillside tavernas in Plaka, or on a boat in Kleftiko. It exceeded my expectations for a Greek honeymoon spot, and we look forward to visiting this idyllic island again someday.

Day 1: Arrive & wander local villages

Sunset views at Utopia Cafe
When you arrive via ferry or plane, check into your hotel and grab your rental car or ATV. You will definitely want the freedom to explore on your own, and we loved having a rental car for our entire stay. Head to the port town of Adamantas and grab lunch at Gyros of Milos. Enjoy the water views and the local shops. Freshen up at your hotel before heading to Plaka for sunset and dinner. Utopia Cafe has amazing cocktails and sunset views. Walk through Plaka and enjoy the many shops before heading to dinner at Avli Milos.
Day 2: Explore southern beaches

Climbing down to Tsigrado Beach
Start your morning heading to the south coast of the island. First stop is Tsigrado Beach, also known as "ladder beach." You can park on the hill between the two beaches and walk to each (wear comfortable shoes). Start at the top of the cliff and scale your way down the ladders to get to a stunning beach nestled between the rocks. The views from up top and the waterside are beyond beautiful. From Tsigrado, walk down the hill to Firiplaka and grab some lunch at Loco Beach Bar. Bask in the sun on the sand or wade through the water for the rest of the afternoon. Bring a change of clothes in the car before heading over to Sirocco Volcanic Restaurant for dinner to get their iconic fish cooked in volcanic sand.
Day 3: Boat day & Pollonia

Sailboats at the Kleftiko Caves
Take a full-day sailing cruise to explore the coast of Milos, swim in the Aegean Sea, and explore the caves of Kleftiko. Enjoy lunch on board and learn about the history of the island along the way, including the pirates that used to hide in the caves. Swimming through the caves in the crystal-clear water is a definite highlight of the day. In the evening, drive to Pollonia to walk through the shops and enjoy the sea views. Have dinner at Enalion Restaurant (reserve ahead of time and request a table next to the beach), then grab drinks after dinner at Cactus Cafe Bar.
Day 4: North coast & iconic restaurants

Sarakiniko Beach
In the morning, explore and relax on Sarakiniko Beach, also known as the moon beach. If you are an early riser, the sunrise here is amazing as well. There are high and low cliffs you can jump from, or ground-level entry if you are wanting to swim. Mid-day, drive over to Mandrakia and have lunch at Medusa. They don't take reservations, so either get there early when they open or walk around the seaside fishing town while you wait for a table. The seafood, views, and hospitality here are wonderful. Spend the afternoon enjoying the pool at your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Greek dinner at O! Hamos! Tavern in Adamantas. No reservations here either, but definitely worth the wait. You can have drinks on the beach while you wait for your table.
Need to know
Prepare for the wind. We had to be flexible with ferries and our boat day, but everything was for our safety! Bring a jacket, as nights can get chilly.
There are taxis you can call or book through your hotel, but having a car was the quickest and most reliable way to get around.
The towns and villages come alive at night. Book a late reservation but show up early to wander around.
Be sure to have some euros. Almost everywhere takes credit cards, but it's best to be safe and have cash. Stop at an ATM in Adamantas when you arrive!
Greek skincare/bodycare is amazing! You can buy Korres and Apivita products at the pharmacy. I highly recommend Korres After Sun and their Greek yogurt skincare line. We also stocked up on Apivita shower items (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) to use throughout our trip!
