Curator’s statement
Greece quickly became one of my favorite places, from the genuinely warm service industry to the fresh foods and views. I traveled for three weeks, starting in Athens and island-hopping to four islands, and I never came across a waiter/waitress or hotel staff that did not take the time to engage in a conversation with warmth and interest like I did here. The tomatoes are from another world—even my husband ate them! Whether you have five days or three weeks, there is something for everyone. The water views from most locations are incredible and invite you to come for a swim.

Things to do in Greece

Wondering the streets of Old Town in Mykonos
Get out on the water
Catamarans, sailboats, motorboats, or cruises are all options. There is no better way to enjoy the blue water than being on it and having a chance to take a dip.
Treat yourself to a Michelin Star restaurant
We chose Monopati, at Katikies Santorini, which was unforgetable. From the presentation to the blending of flavors, it will go down as one of my favorite meals ever.
Enjoy lunch at a Beach Club in Mykonos
Nammos is one of the upscale clubs accented in Tiffany blue umbrellas and tableware. The fresh seafood is mouth-watering and the people-watching is fantastic.
Explore the villages
Stroll to any of the charming villages like Oai, Old Town Mykonos, Rethymno, and more.
Find some linen treasures, enjoy the beautiful flora, or stop for a bite to eat. It’s everything that makes Greece memorable.
Enjoy a dinner in one of the port towns
Picture Mamma Mia: everyone outside at tables overlooking the water. Try Sigi Ikthios and get the Shrimp Risotto you will thank me!
Take a food and wine tour
Each island has a variety of them, so find one that fits your personality. I chose one in Crete that took us to two small family vineyards, Domaine Paterianakis and Ayrarakis. We opted for the lunch pairing at Ayarakis that cemented my husband’s change of opinion of tomatoes forever.
Enjoy your resort
These resorts truly need their own time to just sit, relax, and enjoy the attentive staff.

In Athens, treat yourself to the Winter Garden inside the Hotel Grande Bretagne and then hop up to the Bar 8 rooftop with amazing views of the Acropolis.
In Rethymno, we loved the ambiance of Castelo Restaurant that served a fantastic Dover Sole filet table-side.
Santorini has so many options. My two favorites were Monopati and Thalami Bistro for some traditional Italian food.
Sigi in Paros will not disappoint you. With local fresh fish and a DJ spinning some great music.
Mykonos is known for its beach clubs, and I would say you must try one even if it’s for lunch. For an all-nighter, venture over to Scorpions.
Need to know
Don't let the articles on the ferries make you opt out. They make island-hopping so easy, I think you're pretty safe in the summer months. The three times we took a ferry, they were on time and enjoyable to get out on the water. Buy first-class tickets. For the price, it's nice to know you have a seat in a relaxed area.
Aim for at least three islands if you have the time. Some only require a few days, others it's easy to stay for 5–6. They are very unique and all have their own scenery and vibe.
I would have an advisor plan this vacation since there are so many moving parts.
