Things to do in Vancouver

Vancouver Seawall
Walk & enjoy the views
Walk through the city and take in its stunning architecture, seamlessly integrated with the abundant natural beauty that defines Vancouver. You are sure to encounter warm smiles from locals, reflecting the city's rich cultural diversity and welcoming spirit.
You can explore charming, tree-lined residential streets dotted with unique neighbourhood cafés. Alternatively, lace up your tennis shoes and enjoy the long, walkable stretches of beach from Kitsilano to Jericho Beach and the forested trails of the Endowment Lands.
Biking
The fabulous Fairmont hotels in Vancouver offer complimentary bikes and helmets to their guests. Simply check with the bellman and set off along Coal Harbour’s seawall towards Stanley Park.
Enjoy stunning ocean views, watch boats gently floating by, and ride beneath the iconic Lion’s Gate Bridge. Along the way, you’ll find occasional beaches perfect for a reflective pause. Be sure to glance back—the cityscape views are truly remarkable. As you follow the seawall, take time to appreciate the impressive public art installations that enrich this scenic route.
Fashion
Vancouver is home to a wealth of local and carefully curated boutiques. Explore Gastown to discover unique stores such as Neighbour, offering stylish options for both women and men, and Roden Grey, known for its exceptional men’s fashion selection. Near Kitsilano and West Second Avenue, you will find Provide, one of the city’s most beautifully curated homeware shops featuring natural, stunning pieces and furniture crafted by local artisans.
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver also features the beautiful Canadian flagship shops of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dior, OMEGA, and St. John nestled within its lobby.
Museums
Be sure to visit the Museum of Anthropology (MOA), located near the Endowment Lands at the University of British Columbia. This exceptional museum offers a profound insight into the art and lifestyle of Canada’s First Nations peoples.
The stunning location enhances your experience, while the MOA’s commitment to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples ensures that originating communities maintain the right to "control, protect, and develop their cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, and traditional cultural expression." This visit may be your first opportunity to witness the power, beauty, and cultural significance of First Peoples’ totem poles, history, and art.
Places to eat & drink in Vancouver

Locals enjoying the lounge at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia
Hawksworth
If you don't want to break the bank but wish to dine in one of Vancouver's most delicious high-end restaurants, book yourself in for lunch for Hawksworth's pre-set three-course lunch menu, found in the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. The curated wine list and menus conceived by celebrated Canadian chef David Hawksworth are not to be missed. You can also gaze at the original artworks of Damien Hirst and Rodney Graham. Art! The world into the soul!
1927 Lounge
Also located within the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, this charming lounge offers an ideal setting for an afternoon lunch. Featuring local artwork and a carefully curated menu of light fare, lunch options, and artisanal cocktails, it is a beloved hidden gem for both Vancouverites and travelers.
Kissa Tanto
Located in a charmingly weathered building in Chinatown, Kissa Tanto is all about the flavor. But the ambiance is even more impressive. Kissa Tanto is everything you wouldn't expect to delight your senses. A seamless fusion of delicate Japanese and comforting Italian cuisines, two culinary traditions united by their shared appreciation for noodles, rice, and pristine, fresh proteins. This is more than a meal—it is an experience filled with laughter, storytelling, and soulful music.
Nook
A neighborhood spot to kick back and relax. Nook has expanded to other locations within Vancouver, not because they are a chain, but because these Vancouver locals have created a menu and light-hearted experience that will indeed have you smiling and coming back for more. The ambience is light, and the Italian food is simple and delicious with a Pacific Northwest flair. A perfect place to experience the life of Vancouverites.
Chambar
I would be remiss not to mention the Belgian-inspired Chambar. I have been frequenting this restaurant for over 20 years, and wow, each time they hit the mark. Casual dining, truly at its finest. From beautiful cocktails to their famous tagine, you will be immersed in a dining experience that will last in your memories for a lifetime.
Greenhorn Cafe
If you're looking for a delicious and healthy neighborhood brunch, visit Greenhorn. This local gem offers a welcoming hip atmosphere with kind staff, excellent coffee, and talented chefs. The ambiance is vibrant and authentic, and the menu focuses on wholesome, flavorful dishes.
Need to know
If you have a long wait time at the Vancouver airport, I highly recommend you check your bags before heading to the security gates and then go to the Fairmont YVR to relax and have a meal or a drink. With high ceilings, open windows, and local farm-to-table food, the restaurant, for an airport, is spectacular.
If you require an overnight stay, the Fairmont YVR is an ideal choice. Located within the terminal, this luxurious hotel offers exceptional convenience. As a Fora Preferred Partner, exclusive complimentary perks such as daily breakfast for two, a $100 USD resort credit, and early check-in/late check-out, upon availability, can be included with your reservation. With wonderful staff and exceptional service, you'll embark on your next adventure feeling refreshed and well cared for.
