Curator’s statement
Years of deep female friendship and a 40th birthday celebration brought me and a group of my friends to the sunny shores of Paros. Of course, when several Type-A executives and professionals travel together, every meal becomes a mission to uncover the very best sips, bites, and hidden gems across Paros and Antiparos. This guide contains a sneak peek into the shared laughter, unforgettable flavors, and the joy of savoring a place together with friends.

Things to do on Paros

Secluded beach on the island of Despotiko
Private boat tour—Hikari Boat: Set sail on an 8-hour private journey with Konstantin, a retired Parian whose deep knowledge of the island’s history and culture brings every stop to life. Highlights include the crystalline Blue Lagoon, a leisurely lunch on Antiparos, and a side excursion to the secluded, uninhabited island of Despotiko. Side Note: Despotiko—This small island is home to fascinating archaeological finds and open-air marble temples, including the Sanctuary of Apollo. It’s a photographer’s paradise both in the water and on the beach, but there are no shops or facilities, so bring water, hats, and any supplies you may need.
Evening stroll in Naoussa: Paros’ nightlife hub, Naoussa, is as lively as it is charming. Beyond cocktails and dinner, the narrow streets are dotted with independent designers and artisans, offering minimal, chic jewelry and craft items—a treasure trove for collectors and style enthusiasts alike.
Sweet endings—Greek gelato: Much like Italy, Paros embraces the ritual of a nightly gelato. Richer and creamier than you might expect, it’s the perfect way to finish a leisurely dinner under the stars.
Stray cats—The island’s charming locals: Well-fed, friendly, and surprisingly photogenic, Paros and Antiparos’ stray cats have earned their place as unofficial tourist attractions—perfect companions for your evening wanderings and a delightful Instagram subject against the Aegean backdrop.
Places to eat & drink on Paros

Barbarossa in Noussa
Best Dakos salad—Siparos Seaside Restaurant (Paros): A classic Cycladic dish of barley rusks, ripe tomatoes, creamy feta or mizithra, and olive oil—each restaurant offers its own interpretation, but Siparos serves the standout version on the island (and I tried many).
Freddo espresso—Cannelait (Paros): Cannelait, a beloved Paros institution known for its pastries and brunch, serves one of the island’s best Freddo Espressos—hot espresso shaken over ice until impossibly smooth and frothy.
Pork gyros—Pita Frank (Paros): This tiny, wallet-friendly pita shop in Naoussa turns out exceptionally flavorful pork gyros—simple, fast, and deeply satisfying.
Oysters & salt-crusted sea bass—Blue Oyster (Paros): Come for the fresh, beautifully served oysters and stay for the standout salt-crusted sea bass, a truly memorable seafood experience.
Elevated cocktails at sunset—The Rooster (Antiparos): Hop on the ferry to Antiparos for refined cocktails and some of the most spectacular sunset views on either island. The Rooster pairs an intimate yet polished vibe with the option to continue the evening over dinner next door at The Farm.
Need to know
Aegean and other regional carriers have a well-earned reputation for sending luggage on its own extended holiday. Keep your essentials and valuables in your carry-on and consider travel insurance with coverage that properly compensates you in case of this common detour.
