Things to do in Mexico City, Mexico

Hot Air Ballooning in Mexico City

There is a truly endless number of activities one can partake in Mexico City depending on your vibe and goal. Below I’ve listed the must, tried-and-true attractions that every visitor should get to see when in Mexico City.

Hot Air Ballooning Over the Teotihuacan Pyramids

One of the most incredible experiences and bucket list items to do in life! If you've never hot air balloon-ed before, try it here. While you can climb up to the pyramids during the day in sweltering heat, a sunrise expedition is truly one of a kind. Maybe the Aztecs never saw their pyramids from this vantagepoint, but they sure meant for the Gods to.

Casa Organica

Designed by Mexican architect Javier Senosiain, Casa Organica, is a house that is intimately tucked away in its own microclimate just northwest of Mexico City in Naucalpan. Its bio-architectural components create a harmonious and multi-sensory experience, enticing visitors to discover, interact with and unlock new depths about the parallels between nature and architecture.

Frida Kahlo Museum

You can’t leave Mexico City without visiting the Grande Dame herself and her love nest Casa Azul with painter Diego Rivera in Coyoacan. Check out the market while you’re in the neighborhood.

Casa Gilardi

Luis Barragan's house and museum, known as Casa Gilardi, is one of the most precious examples and influences behind contemporary architecture. The beauty of the lines that he crafts in his organic architecture designs are sure to impress a few more generations to come – don’t forget to snap some pictures here!

Museo Tamayo

Mexico City is an artful city that also houses Latin and South America’s largest art fair, Zona Maco, every February. Visit many of its museums but do not miss the modern and contemporary art museum Museo Tamayo. Here you can get to know new Latinx artists and interact with artistic creation in a new way.

Walk around Parque Mexico

La Condesa and La Roma are Mexico City’s most hipster neighborhoods – offering great food, shopping and an overall fantastic atmosphere. Come here to spend the day, walk through its cute streets, eat a taco and take a stroll through the picturesque Parque Mexico.

Taco Tour

An expert's secret: watch the first episode of Taco Chronicles on Netflix and jot down all the spots for really good recommendations on tacos al pastor. Now that you’ve got your own mini taco tour, start early and pace yourself. Just remember, if there’s a line, they must be worth it!
