Things to do on the Amalfi Coast

Sorrento
Explore the towns of the Amalfi Coast: There are several towns along the Amalfi Coast, and you can venture from one to the other via ferry or bus. Positano is one of the most well-known spots due to its colorful facade and hilltop views; it is spectacular to explore, but be prepared for the crowds that flock there. Other nearby towns to visit include Amalfi, Ravello, and (technically outside of the Amalfi Coast) Sorrento. All of these towns have their own unique features, but you can enjoy shopping, dining, historic sites, and scenic views across them all.
Relax at the beach: In the summer months, relax at one of the many beach clubs. Some hotels have their own private beach clubs included complimentary in the stay, while you also may choose to pay to visit other popular beach clubs like Arienzo or One Fire. As your travel advisor, I can help you navigate hotel accommodations with beach access, as well as reservations for beach clubs.
Day trip to Capri: The island of Capri is the perfect day trip from the Amalfi Coast and accessible via ferry or private boat excursions. Take the funicular train up the hill to enjoy scenic views, high-end shopping, and a nice meal. If you have time, you can also venture to the town of Anacapri on the other side of the island.
Boat trip along the coast: Enjoy a day at sea and visit the Blue Grotto. I have several recommendations for the perfect boat excursion based on the experience you’re seeking, whether private, shared, romantic, or fun. On this trip, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset cruise with a champagne toast overlooking the coast.
Hike the Path of Gods: If you’re up for some adventure, hike the Path of Gods for scenic views.
Day trip to Pompeii or vineyards: If you're a history buff, don’t miss a day trip to Pompeii, about an hour from the Amalfi Coast by car. While there, you can visit nearby vineyards for a wine tasting experience.
Explore the lemon groves: No trip to the Amalfi Coast is complete without seeing endless lemon souvenirs (on this trip, I came home with both a lemon ornament and lemon hat), but it’s for good reason—the region is known for its incredible lemon groves. Take a lemon tour or enjoy a limoncello tasting.
Take a cooking class: Sharpen your cooking skills by taking a class with a true Italian chef. The region is known for its seafood, in addition to some Italian staples.
Places to eat & drink on the Amalfi Coast

Dei Cappuccini
Da Vincenzo Positano: Restaurant for lunch or dinner with amazing seafood, specialty fried dishes, and fresh flavors. The staff was so welcoming, even during a busy dining time.
Dei Cappuccini: Set in a former 12th-century monastery (now the Anantara Convento di Amalfi), this restaurant has stunning views along with amazing Italian cuisine.
Pupetto Beach Club: Located beachfront in Positano, this is a casual beach alternative for a scenic lunch or a place to enjoy the day.
La Cantinaccia del Popolo: There is a line out the door here, and for good reason. From amazing seafood to pasta, enjoy an incredible meal in this bustling restaurant.
Franco’s Bar: For iconic Positano views, this is the spot to have a cocktail. It gets quite busy here, so you’ll want to arrive early.
Eden Sky Bar Positano: For equally amazing sunset Positano views, try this spot. The bonus is that you can make reservations here, making for a peaceful experience.
Need to know
Getting around the Amalfi Coast can be challenging, and I’m here to help navigate those details for you. This is not a region where I recommend renting a car, since the roads can be very windy, so it’s better to take advantage of trains, ferries, and private car transfers.
