Things to do in Mexico City

Hot air balloon flight

  • Chapultepec Castle: A monumental landmark that represents Mexican history and culture. This is North America’s only true castle. Prepare for the altitude, as this castle is located atop a hill.

  • Hot air balloon flight: Wake up early for a balloon flight in Teotihuacan over the pyramids. After the flight, have breakfast in a cave and explore the archaeological pyramids zone.

  • Biblioteca Vasconcelos: This is not an ordinary library. It is a futuristic, massive, and architecturally stunning public library.

  • Angel of Independence: A must-see monument that represents Mexico’s freedom from Spanish rule. The monument is stunning at sunset.

  • Go shopping in Roma Norte: The neighborhood is exceptionally walkable. Roma Norte is full of boutiques, vintage stores, thrift shops, and bazaars.

  • El Bazar Sabado: The perfect place to spend your Saturday morning /afternoon. There are many artists and artisans who sell hand-crafted jewelry, pottery, embroidered clothes, and many more unique items. It was by far one of my best shopping experiences in Mexico City.

Places to eat & drink in Mexico City

Taqueria Orinoco

  • Odette bakery has great pastries. The guava pastry is a must-try.

  • Kill Bill Sushi is a fun omakase and has some of the freshest fish. The restaurant is intimate and has great vinyls in rotation to keep the vibe fun!

  • San Matcha is the place to try if you love matcha. There are several unique options to add some pizzazz to the classic tea.

  • Taqueria Orinoco is an inexpensive option for a quick bite. The tacos are worth the visit.

  • Mi Compa Chava Marisqueria is an amazing seafood restaurant in the Roma Norte neighborhood. The tuna tostada was delectable.
