Advisor - New York City for the Natural Wine Lover
Curator’s statement

As with many things in New York, the natural wine scene is out of this world. NYC is never short on exciting things to do, cool bars or trendy restaurants; there is nothing quite like spending a day roaming around the city and ending it with drinks at a fabulous natural wine bar. It's my favorite destination to return to over and over again!

Things to do in New York City

The Metropolitan Museum of Art by Courtney Bishop

Walk: New York is magic, and you’re right in the middle of it! Each neighborhood has its own unique personality. New streets bring new surprises. Take in the buildings, the sights, the energy. Go walk where your favorite movie was filmed. When in New York, you must wander aimlessly!

People watch in Washington Square Park: Take a bagel or your lunch to the park. Find the perfect bench. Sit. Enjoy your bagel and the endlessly entertaining activity that flourishes in Washington Square Park.

Visit the Met: It's iconic for a reason! You can get lost in this massive museum on New York's Upper East Side. Lost among beautiful art!

Thrift shop: Thrift shopping is always a fun addition to any trip, but in New York it’s extra special. Remember, you’re in the land of street style. You might find a really great fashion souvenir!

Browse books at The Strand: Boasting 18 miles of books, The Strand has been an independent bookseller for 97 years. Their selection is incredible. With over 2.5 million new and used books you’re sure to find a sweet souvenir.

Places to eat & drink in New York City

Apollo Bagels by Courtney Bishop

Le Dive: Le Dive has lots of seating from sidewalk tables to a tiny covered patio area lined with tables to a row of tables inside along the windows. They all share one thing in common: they’re oriented to the street, posed for prime people watching just like in Paris. Le Dive is a great place to grab a glass of natural wine solo. You can sip that rosé while sitting at one of those sidewalk tables and watch the city bustle past.

La Cabra: When you need to take a break from sipping natural wine, this is where to go for incredible specialty coffee and pastries. La Cabra is excellent!

Bouquet: This new natural wine bar in Brooklyn checks all the boxes. Friendly, welcoming, perfectly decorated, with a killer wine list and a cool patio.

The Ten Bells: The Ten Bells is the perfect place to meet a friend, try an interesting wine you’ve never heard of, chat for a long time and enjoy some snacks. Their kitchen offers tapas that perfectly enhance the taste of the wines. Plus, their happy hour is one of the best deals in the city: $1.50 oysters!

Apollo Bagels: Eating good bagels is essential to any New York Trip. Apollo Bagels might be trendy but they're totally worth the hype. These bagels are delish!

Skin Contact: The gold standard of natural wine bars! The wine list is vast with lighthearted descriptions. What magic do they wield to find that many different wines from small producers all over the world?

Need to know

The thing about traveling to New York is there is an endless amount of new places and activities to discover. Endless! Making an itinerary can be helpful, but make sure you leave time to wander aimlessly... and time to linger over a glass of natural wine.
