Day 1: Geneva — where diplomacy meets lakeside magic

The Jet d’Eau Fountain

Kick off your Swiss adventure in elegant Geneva. After checking into your hotel and grabbing breakfast at a cozy café near Lake Geneva, ease into the city's laid-back rhythm with a walk along the lakeside promenade.

Snap iconic photos at the towering Jet d’Eau Fountain and wander through the blooming Jardin Anglais. Next, pay a visit to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum for a moving, interactive experience.

No Geneva trip is complete without a tour of the United Nations Headquarters at the Palais des Nations. Booking ahead is highly recommended — the guided tour offers a fascinating look inside one of the world’s most influential institutions.

Before sunset, stroll the cobbled streets of Geneva’s Old Town, climb the towers of St. Pierre Cathedral and treat yourself to a lakeside dinner with local Swiss cuisine.

Day 2: Geneva to Interlaken — scenic train journeys & mountain viewpoints

Today is all about one of Switzerland’s most scenic journeys. Depart Geneva and hop aboard the GoldenPass Line — a legendary train route featuring panoramic windows, postcard-worthy villages, rolling vineyards and glistening alpine lakes as you glide through the heart of Switzerland toward Interlaken.

Once in Interlaken, check into your hotel and head straight for one of the town’s best viewpoints: Harder Kulm. A short funicular ride whisks you up to the viewing platform, offering a jaw-dropping panorama over Interlaken, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz and the surrounding Bernese Alps.

Photo tip: Arrive at Harder Kulm just before golden hour for the dreamiest lighting and fewer crowds.

Round off the evening with a stroll through Interlaken’s Old Town and pay a visit to the Yash Chopra Statue, a sweet nod to Bollywood’s love affair with Switzerland.

Day 3: Interlaken — paragliding & exploring the Jungfrau region

Jungfrau

Start the day with an unforgettable experience — paragliding over Interlaken. Few places in the world offer such breathtaking scenery from the sky, as you float between two sparkling lakes with the snow-capped Bernese Alps stretched out ahead. Local operators offer tandem flights that are beginner-friendly, and your pilot will guide you through a smooth, exhilarating journey you won’t soon forget.

Once you’ve come back down to earth, set your sights on the Jungfrau region, a Swiss Alpine paradise that feels like it belongs on the cover of a hiking magazine. Whether you choose to board the cogwheel train to Jungfraujoch — known as the “Top of Europe” — or hop between alpine villages like Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Mürren, the day promises unforgettable views at every turn. In Lauterbrunnen, the valley’s iconic Staubbach Falls tumble dramatically from towering cliffs, while nearby Trümmelbach Falls reveals a hidden world of glacial waters carving through rock. If you’re craving more hiking, head to Grindelwald First and trek toward Bachalpsee, where on clear days the lake perfectly mirrors the snowcapped peaks. For a faster route to Jungfraujoch, consider the Eiger Express cableway, which makes the ascent both smooth and scenic.

Wherever your boots take you, the Jungfrau Region will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a real-life postcard.

Day 4: Lucerne — medieval bridges, lake cruises & Swiss charm

Chapel Bridge

Head to Lucerne, a fairytale city known for its medieval architecture and lakeside beauty. Walk across the iconic Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), Switzerland’s oldest wooden bridge, lined with colorful flower boxes in spring.

Stop at the Lion Monument, a moving rock carving honoring Swiss Guards who lost their lives during the French Revolution, then cross the lesser-known but equally charming Spreuerbrücke, another wooden bridge with historical paintings overhead.

Spend some time wandering the Old Town’s winding streets before boarding a relaxing Lake Lucerne Cruise — covered by the Swiss Travel Pass — where you’ll float past charming lakeside villages and snow-capped peaks.

If time allows, pop into the Musegg Wall for a walk along the medieval city fortifications or grab a coffee at Café Luz with lake views.

In the early evening, catch a direct train to Zurich, Switzerland’s largest and liveliest city, and settle into your hotel in the Old Town — a perfect base for your final days.

Day 5: Zurich — Old Town, shopping streets & chocolate delights

Chocolate!

Explore Zurich’s Altstadt (Old Town) — where centuries-old buildings, quirky boutiques and cozy cafés line cobbled streets. Take a moment at Lindenhof Hill for peaceful city views.

Stroll down Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich’s famed shopping boulevard, where high-end boutiques and Swiss watchmakers tempt window-shoppers and collectors alike.

For culture lovers, the Swiss National Museum offers exhibits on everything from medieval weaponry to contemporary design.

After lunch, unwind with a Lake Zurich boat cruise, a relaxing way to admire the city’s blend of natural and urban beauty. Then, indulge your sweet tooth with a visit to the Lindt Home of Chocolate, where the towering chocolate fountain and tasting room await. If you're a football fan, consider a detour to the FIFA Museum.

Sweet tip: Chocolate lovers should arrive early for their Lindt reservation — the gift shop is also worth exploring!

Day 6: Hiking heaven — Stoos ridges & alpine horizons

Leave the city behind and immerse yourself in pure Swiss nature with a day trip to Stoos, a peaceful alpine village that’s car-free and cradled by towering peaks. A funicular — the steepest in the world — whisks you up to the trailhead, where the Gratwanderung Stoos Ridge hike awaits. This ridge walk is nothing short of spectacular, with sweeping 360-degree views over central Switzerland’s lakes and jagged mountain ranges. The path is well-maintained but thrilling enough to leave you feeling like an adventurer.

If you’d prefer something different, you could also swap Stoos for other scenic routes such as the Rigi Panorama Trail, which is easily accessible from Lucerne, or the Schynige Platte to First trail, one of the Jungfrau Region’s most rewarding hikes. Both offer a variety of landscapes, from alpine meadows to glacial lakes, and are especially photogenic in spring.

Whatever trail you choose, there’s no better way to end your Swiss journey than with fresh mountain air, panoramic views and that satisfying post-hike glow.
